Doan Distillery — Local services in Quakertown

Bootlegging has new boots, literally. Damn, so this distillery Doan in Quakertown Pa, nestled in the corner of Trolley Barn Public Market, was closed at 12,pm. However, my passion for whiskey compelled me to take pictures through the sliding, old jail's style doors. At that moment a bearded , Williamsburg style, man greeted me ,who later on inquiry was distillery master Steve. And, he offered me a drink. I literally thought it was beer since it was in a plastic cup. Upon tasting I said it tastes like Old Fashion. Steve smirked playful y and rest was history. The atmosphere was great, drinks were good, but the bartenders were so unprofessional it made us not want to stay for a few more rounds. My husband and I go out for dinner or drinks a few times a week, and have both worked in the service industry so we are very lenient when it comes to our expectations from bartenders. We felt like we were interrupting their hangout - they were loudly talking about other people, relationships, etc., making drinks for each other, yelling at people walking into the market, and breathalyzing patrons and then continuing to serve them. They all seemed tipsy or drunk.

4 bartenders, and maybe 15 people but they were still telling people to go get their own waters while they stood and looked at their phones.

I am so picky about everything; especially when it comes to alcohol. If you want a great tasting experience try the quakerade. Its a non carbonated alcoholic drink mixed with vodka (gluten free and super clean) and comes in lemon, pink grapefruit, mango, strawberry and peach!
