As a bride, I am very disappointed in the service received. I made an appointment, arrived on time, and felt dismissed by the sales associate, Vicky. I had a clear idea of the style of dress that I was looking for and design elements that did not work for me or my wedding, including showing pictures of dresses I liked. Once the appointment started we were on our own for over 40 minutes to pick dresses, bring them to the dressing room, and try on on our own. At this time, Vicky was catering to high school girls looking for homecoming dresses. When my father spoke to Vicky about how disappointed we were in the lack of attention and help I was receiving she did nothing to fix the issue, but rather started pulling dresses that were far from my vision I shared with her at the beginning of the appointment. She also mentioned, in passing, upon trying on the first wedding dress I ever put on that I could wear spanx with it to make it more flattering. On a positive note, at the very end of the appointment (last chance for a sale) Vicky did offer suggestions for altering a dress to make it into more of my style. I should also note the lack of variety of styles available - I was able to try on three dresses without beading. I would never return to this store and would not suggest brides looking for a positive experience...
Read moreI always recommended to everyone Eighth Avenue previously for my first two daughters' weddings; however. this time I was very disappointed. I bought a $300 mother's gown and jewelry and my daughter bought her wedding dress there and we were supposed to get free alterations. The alterations woman was very kind to rush the alterations, since we only had two weeks to go. I think when you spend $1000 there, you shouldn't have to pay for alterations.
Also all 4 bridesmaid dresses were purchased there, but they each had to pay an additional $6 to get their gowns pressed, which I...

No one offered to help, check on me in dressing room, offer to get me another size/color/dress, etc. When I left 5 or 6 clerks were huddled around the front desk. I asked if they had a consultant on staff to offer style suggestions and ideas. They all kind of looked at each other and one finally said, what color are you looking for. I said forget it. I tried to support local business, but looks like I am back to...
