I attended a friendly gathering recently and realized I had the "Thirstys". Beer sounded nice! Unfortunately I'd forgot my wallet at home, but I did have my phone. I recalled a virtual gift card Id saved on my phone and a friend suggested I spend it locally. "Wine on Broadway! they said. "They offer shopping, ordering, and card payments on their website!" To the website I went.
Joining Wine on Broadways online shop then adding the gift card to my new account was simple. The confirmation came in seconds. "Bet!"..I thought.
Next I perused the website settling on a case of Natural Light. Time to checkout. I chose the option to pickup, however delivery was available. But I was curious. Would paying elsewhere really change the experience? "We'll see", I reasoned.
I paid for the Natty with my gift card. Again the confirmation arrived almost instantly. Then off to validate I hadn't dreamed this. .
Pulling up to Wine on Broadway, I steeled my nerve and went inside. My concerns were eased when on the counter, in front of two smiling faces was a case of Natty. "Im Darren" I said optimistically. "This must be for you" came the reply. I was speechless. This had never happened before. They handed me the beer. "Play it cool" I remember thinking! The gravity of what was happening was almost too much, but I managed to holster my excitement.
We thanked one another as I headed out the door. Arriving back and sampling the remarkably cold beer, I knew then it was real. Wine on Broadway made that possible. Thanks seemed inappropriate for this new experience. So applause applause to Wine on Broadway. The easy, fast, convenient, friendly, cure for...
Read moreWine on Broadway in Quincy, IL definitely exceeded expectations—don’t let the name fool you. While it sounds like a wine-only spot, they actually have a strong selection of bourbon and whiskey, including several harder-to-find bottles and a few allocations tucked behind the counter.
I was pleasantly surprised to find two of the three Four Roses Single Barrels I’ve been hunting for. They also had some nice offerings from Russell’s Reserve, Widow Jane, and Penelope, just to name a few. The layout was clean, well-organized, and the staff was welcoming and helpful.
While I didn’t make a purchase this time around, it’s definitely a shop I’d revisit whenever I’m in Quincy. It’s not a destination spot on its own for bourbon hunting, but it’s absolutely worth stopping into if you’re in the area. Quincy continues to impress with its bourbon game, and Wine on Broadway is a great part...
Read moreI recently ordered a keg for my wedding from wine on Broadway. The keg was faulty and no matter what, they were not responsible. In this case and I'm sure many, the customer was wrong at every turn. This basically ruined my reception but they didnt care. It was all my fault and there was no way around it. They refused to make me whole and I feel sorry for anyone else who they have screwed in the past or future. I will not be going back and I urge the rest of you to not order...
