We found Hancock Appliance after several failed attempts where the big box stores were unable to accommodate tight city-living/3rd floor+ walk-ups. We wanted to support local business and are so excited we found Hancock! They offer a range of brands and we ended up purchasing multiple appliances with maintenance contract with them and they kept to their agreement tenfold! We had an issue with our washer/dryer only 3 yrs in (manufacturer fault not theirs!) and in trying to get it repaired; anyone we engaged with from Hancock was amazing, friendly, knowledgeable, super responsive (Nancy, Bill, Kiernan, Lou, Ethan, Jimmy and so many others!) Hancock knows the Boston landscape and the business of appliances and are incredibly experienced and resourceful to make it work (looking at you north end and beacon hill!) Additionally the team that does the installation/delivery are equipped to handle plumbing/gas so you don't need to coordinate a separate call with the delivery/installation!

Top load washer after 15 years stopped working so on MA tax free weekend looked on line at the small business stores for a washer. Looked at GW Toma, New England Appliance and Hancock Appliance websites. Chose Hancock Appliance due to location had make and models that Consumer Reports approved of. But due to tax free weekend, store was busier than usual. I did notice a sales man helping out another customer and when he was giving his pitch to a client, I needed to look at other models in store since most washing machines only come with a one year warranty and LG brand that Consumer Reports gave thumbs up to were cheaply made IMO. Found a model that was assembled in the US that came with a limited 5 year warranty for materials and workmanship and a limited 10 year on the motor (I'm responsible for labor and cost) Only reason location got 4 stars is salesman did not mention anything about financing that website lists. My husband and I own 7 rental properties and 4 homes and I have ordered more than a dozen large appliances over the years from them. I've never had a more attentive and professional, helpful customer service experience or dealt with a more kind, professional and careful delivery team than when I order from Hancock. They have all the appliances I am looking for (even specialty brands and odd sizes I need), their pricing is great, their showroom is filled with a large selection of models and options, but I can also order items not on the floor, they respond quickly if I need help, they are always on time with delivery, they set everything up so I don’t have to worry, they will remove the old appliances if I need them to, and they are so careful with my new appliances and my home.
