I was impressed by ALDI'S. This was my first visit to this particular branch. I have briefly visited other ALDI'S stores. The fresh fruit and vegetable section looked well stocked. It had several people browsing in this area and I didn't need anything from here so I moved on to next section. I deliberately purchased several items that was the store brand option instead of the more popular name brand version and was pleasantly impressed by the freshness and taste and of course the price was much more reasonable than I expected. Prices have gotten outrageous on groceries and sometimes you can't get certain things with a particular area on store shelves staying empty for weeks. The store is basically set up as Sam's or Costco more the warehouse look. Still easy to access the items and there is a variety of items to choose from. This store had all the necessary and needed staples and a good variety to make your choices from. I believe you won't be disappointed in trying the lesser known and cheaper brands. I purchased their name brand mild cheddar cheese cubes and the taste was just as good as any other and way cheaper. Every item I purchased was fresh and tasted like it could have been the much more expensive brand. All the different area's of the store was clean and tidy. Plenty of room with wide isles. The frozen vegetables looked excellent even though I didn't buy any that day I certainly will when I return. There were several people shopping but the atmosphere was good and reasonably quiet, and appreciated. Employees that I interacted with were kind and helpful. Check out was fast. I do intend to return and investigate even further. They did offer lots of very nice household items and personal goods, and decorating products for sale that looked made well and reasonably priced. I will return here to grocery shop because I did like what I seen and its definitely worth a return trip. What do you think about grocery shopping at ALDI'S? Do you have any tips or hacks that you could share with us that might make our visits to the grocery store more reasonable. Thank you...
Read moreThis is usually where I go to get groceries since it’s so cheap. Their boxed shells and cheese is to die for alongside their thin mints and a variety of other foods. I love the selection they always have, but I do feel it’s very cramped in there.
This isn’t a total complaint of the store, but since it’s so cramped there are always too many rude people who will hit you in the back with their carts. Once the ramen noodles weren’t stocked and an obese lady almost pushed me over to get the last two packs.
Another time they didn’t push out the whole milk so I crawled into the freezer to get a couple gallons and freaked out due to the vacuum on the door. I got so scared I was stuck in the freezer, so maybe if something isn’t pushed forward just ask an employee like I didn’t.
The check out line is almost always full and there’s only one line open. Usually I have the same cashier who is mostly very nice. There have been a couple little incidents where she was rude but otherwise perfect service.
I have an anxiety disorder and with the cramped feeling of the store with so many people it can make me feel awful even running in for a couple items. I feel so much more at ease in the Etown Aldis but it’s so far out of my way.
All in all, it’s a really good store if you have thick skin and a lot of patience for the most horrible of people. If you don’t mind people on 3 sides of you while getting items and coming up right behind you. I don’t enjoy that so I don’t enjoy going here at all. But it’s a fantastic place to get cheap items.
But be sure to bring your own boxes or bags. You can purchase bags at the check out line for 10 cents a piece I believe, but you can also take empty stock boxes from the aisles and use...
Read moreThe Radcliff, ky Aldi's can't be my "get everything I need" grocery store, because they simply don't have everything needed for a month; some of the alternative brands they have are not ideal replacements. For instance miracle whip. If I'm not getting Kraft, I can substitute Kroger or if necessary, Walmart store brands. If Aldi had a generic, it simply did not look usable. HOWEVER, I have to go once a month at least for the weird stuff. The everything bagel hummus. The smoked Gouda rounds. The dilled havarti the.25¢ yoghurt. The extra thin bagels. Pesto-pecan spaghetti sauce. 3 types of pre-sliced hard salami (and no other members of the salami family). The applewood-bacon brauts. Vidalia onions that, unlike the local Walmart, have had ancestors growing near vidalia, ga. (Btw, it's not another name for "sweet onions"; that area of Georgia has unusual, low sulphur content soil that makes actual Vidalia onions unique. If your eyes get irritated when you cut it, it's not a real Vidalia. If you aren't a big onion fan, but feel you could at least survive eating one like an apple, it's a Vidalia. ). And, of course, the "hey, look what we got a deal on" aisle, with inexpensive sneakers, hammocks, hampers, baby monitors, etc, etc, Oh and all for really...
