You represent everything that's wrong in the world. I went in to shop today and didn’t even get a fair chance to finish. For context I just cane from the gym and only had a fanny pack, yoga pants either no pockets, and didn't grab a cart because I came for a dew items and quick shopping
I was in the beauty aisle when I heard the alarm go off, signaling store attendants to watch for theft. I moved to another aisle, where an Asian employee made repeated direct eye contact with me. I immediately knew the alert was directed at me. She proceeded to follow me throughout the store.
I stepped back to the beauty aisle, hoping to shop in peace, but the alarm sounded again.
Unsurprisingly, the same employee rushed over, pretending to look for something while touching locked bags as if they weren’t secured.
At that point, I had every right to abandon my items and leave.
When I finally got in line, another Filipina attendant stood behind me, fake-shopping while keeping watch.
At checkout, the cashier asked how my experience was. I told the truth: Horrible, I don’t appreciate being racially profiled in a store where I likely earn 3 or 4 times your salary. It’s unfair. It’s wrong. I hope the guilt keeps you awake at night for putting me through this. When will you stop harassing Black people and supporting corporations that don’t care about you? When will being Black stop meaning we’re seen as threats? You are disgusting.
I cried the whole way home. I wish I could return the $20 worth of items I bought....
Read moreI stopped in the store to pick up some gifts I spent an hour and a half weaving in between a jam-packed messy kid's section went to check out cashier rung up items I asked for a gift receipt only to be told they were out of paper on "ALL" the registers, and she could only give me an online receipt of which I had to put my email address to receive it. I thought this was incredible and a raggedy way to do business. First, she could have told me this prior to ringing anything up to see if I was okay with this but then I accidently paid with the wrong card because I was still trying to understand what she was saying so I asked to void the whole purchase to pay using another method she then says it's too late and I can't void and put back on your card either so if you still want to return I can only give you the cash and still no receipt. I don't understand but it seems their manager neglected to get register paper but now you have to give up your email (to get a bunch of online ads) never had a bad experience here until today am a bit peeved about this colossal waste of time along with this gimmick to get your email address or test out a digital receipt only program either way it was not the right way to do business going to give this...
Read moreI always like shopping at this Marshalls because it's packed, especially if you're looking for home goods - spices and oils, kitchen towels, containers, snacks, general pantry goods. Home stuff always seems to overflow. They have a huge selection of kitchen items like Instant Pots (slightly cheaper than the usual price), Cuisinart cookware, pillows. They also have a great selection on shampoo and bath items. Makeup can be hit or miss but there is a lot and I've seen some top brands. If you have the patience to sift through you'll find something. Huge candle selection too which is my favorite thing to buy.
As far as clothes, I would say this Marshalls always was more on the casual side. There are some dress pants and limited dresses. Lots of sweaters though. There is a large section of intimates and lingerie. I just wish they would have more Warners bras on sale because I love them but they did have at least three that I saw when I went there. Lots of sleep sets too.
I came during the day which is my recommendation. Weekends can be crowded. I didn't stay in line too long and this was a Thursday...
