James Kjerstad Event Center — Local services in Rapid City

Aaron Watson played here as part of the stock show. The venue is pretty basic, but the one thing that was a bit rough was they open the arena up for people to go closer to the stage and this is a very fine dirt floor. Needless to say the air gets filled with dust and a lot of it. The acoustics are good so the music was great. If you go you might want to bring allergy medicine so you can enjoy the night...

Nice to be able to be indoors for the 4gmx races! However seating has NO legroom and almost impossible to move unless you climb up or down seats or over people. We saw a bucking bronco rodeo event here and there were protests 30 or 40 thousand people in attendance. They have several concession and beer stands available. They don’t have a lot of restrooms, but they added portable toilets for the crowd. Plenty of bleacher seats...
