Over the last several years, I have taken three cars to this shop, all of which came from four hours away. I was given such a great deal the first time that I returned for every car since. My first stop, I purchased front speakers & tweeters, rear speakers, speaker amp and subwoofer amp and had them all installed to my existing subwoofer and stereo deck. After a while, the speakers began to shift sound to the right speaker only, in fact it sounded like the tweeter. If I turned the volume up, it would shift back to normal. It didn't happen often, so I thought nothing of it. The second car, well, ended up purchasing a DVD deck with front and rear speakers and a speaker amp. We found out later that the wiring to aftermarket boost controller wiring was cut..for no reason.. I am 100% positive it was done by the shop, who spent over 12 hours installing everything. Like, really? Why the hell would you do that?! Now, the third car... which is the car I still own, was taken there in the fall of 2009 for new front speakers, tweeters, CD player. I reused the same speaker amp from the first car, with a whole new subwoofer & amp setup. I purchased a Kenwood double din CD player for $369 from them because they couldn't get the DVD deck I brought in with me to work. For the installation & cost of front speakers, tweeters, speaker amp and CD deck cost me well over $1000! I paid more for installation than parts! Not how it was in my previous visits... Now, I began having the same issue of the sound shifting to the right tweeter and speaker only.. sometimes it was frequent, sometimes it was okay. Then, all of a sudden, the speakers and tweeters blew.. the sound was terrible! This was two years after installation. A few months later, I purchased new speakers and tweeters and had a new shop in Washington state install them.. They told me that whoever had done the wiring previously hooked up the highs to the speakers and lows to the tweeters, explaining why it didn't sound as crisp as it should have and probably why they eventually blew. The spacers that were used were wood, which expanded greatly. You'd think if I am going to pay so much money they wouldn't have given me wooden spacers! I am still having the issue of sound shifting to one speaker, which is either wiring related (MobileFX) or a bad speaker amp...purchased from them. Now, three years later, the Kenwood deck may finally rest in peace as the aux and usb outputs stopped working. Tonight, I purchased a new DVD deck.. going to install it, found out that the shop was using black/electrical tape for the wiring for my deck.. which is highly unprofessional and heat shrink should have been used. Years later, and I am still finding out all the ghetto rigged things that this shop did? I would never recommend this place to anyone and I would never return here, even I wasn't 1400 miles away now. Every time something has broken and I've had to replace it, all I have heard is "Who in the hell did this before?! This is terrible!" and I have seen it for myself. Do any of these guys even know what they're doing? Granted, the installation work was done three years ago (first one in 2007/2008) but three years later I am still finding things that were not done propely and I had paid so much...
Read moreVery dissatisfied. They were very quick to upsale me saying” They only do installations with OFC wire” that cost a good chunk of change, i had my subs box and amp ready to go i just needed them installed and they said my amp was incorrect but lead me in no direction in what to look for. I had gone through 5 different amps before finding one that works for my subs (which i had to call soundpro to find). then i had called back to try and make a complaint and got shut down with the same thing FROM THE OWNER!!!! Was shocked from this and now refusing to back after i had gotten a system done in my car last summer and was actually very happy with the service, it was simple i called in, asked about how much it would be to get my subs installed into my car they said about 200 to 300 out the door and i said okay i’d like to schedule and they got me in a week later. Not the case this time i have gotten hit with every roadblock possible making almost impossible just to get a system in my pickup! i’m very upset and disappointed with Mobile FX and will surely not go back or recommend ANYONE to them. Overpriced and will surly try and...
Read moreI've given Mobile fx multiple chances, it seem no matter how much you support them they dont value their customers. I was there a few weeks ago and had them install a radio, they charged about $350 for some wire harness and about $40 for some sort of bracket. It turns out that the radio did not work for my vehicle so I had to get a different radio that did not need the harness and bracket. Although they are the one I bought it from and they installed it and I even brought the new radio to them to replace giving them my business again they would not take the stuff back. I have spent thousands of dollars supporting that business bringing multiple of my vehicles to them. I understand that their are policies and so on but for a valid customer you simply count refund something that I dont need?
Also it's they way how it was done also, he was like "well he mentioned something but it dont matter becase we dont take stuff back" just sounded off putting and careless
I would spent my money somewhere else with a business that appreciate their customers.
I am not spending my hard earned money at...
