Cashier interrupted me sharing that my mom has cancer to put in my phone number, which ended up being useless anyway.
I went into the store on August 14, 2025 at about 9am to buy a razor and circle fresh colored bandaids. There were no bandaids like that, so I just purchased the razor which was advertised for $3 off.
As I arrived at the cash register the cashier said, “Did you find everything okay?”
I said, “No, actually you don’t have circular flesh colored bandaids…”
She interrupted, “No, we don’t.”
I continued feeling a bit thrown off because I was mid sentence, “and my mom has skin cancer so she needs to wear a ban…”
“Please put in your phone number,” she interrupted again.
Mind you, I was already putting in my phone number when she said this, so I just paused and looked up at her and put my hand up to gesture that I was doing it.
I took a few breaths and said, “You interrupted me sharing that my mom has cancer.”
She blankly stares at me.
“I feel like I am speaking to a robot,” I said.
“Would you like a receipt?” she said.
“No,” I said feeling shocked by this womans behavior.
As I walked across the street I saw the notification on my phone saying that I had just paid $23 for the razor, but I was supposed to get $3 off.
I was annoyed at this point, that she so adamantly told me to enter in my phone number, then I get no discount.
I walked back in and stated that I did not get the discount.
“Yeah, you have to clip the electronic coupon,” she said.
Firstly, I was not planning to tell her a sob story about my mom having cancer. She asked me if I found everything okay, and I wanted to mention that since my mom has to wear a bandaid for a few weeks, it would be nice to have the option available of the flesh circular one, as those ones are the most natural ones and I could not find them at local stories. (Target, Walmart, Safeway. or Walgreens.) That’s all I wanted to say. I would hope that Walgreens of all places would supply them. ** Clearly, I will buy online in future.
Secondly, she interrupted me to tell me to put in my phone number, but didn’t tell me to clip a damn coupon? I’m unaware that Walgreens has changed the way they give discounts for members. If she’s going to adamantly tell me to put in my number, tell me to clip the damn coupon too, otherwise, don’t say anything.
Thirdly, if I would have taken my receipt, I might have returned it. $3 isn’t that much, but I felt mislead and then interacting with this woman was ridiculous. Chatgpt has more empathy and logic.
And lastly, if you are going to tell your workers to ask me, “Did you find everything already?” Teach them how to listen, otherwise– what is the...
Read moreI must share my absolutely appalling experience at the Walgreens pharmacy on Mount Rushmore Drive in Rapid City on 11/6/2023. My husband, who is currently suffering from severe debilitating low back issues, has been enduring unbearable pain. When we visited this Walgreens location to fill his prescribed medications, we were not only shocked by the exorbitant prices for the medications but also utterly disgusted by the despicable behavior of the pharmacy staff. The pharmacist on duty was not only dismissive but also openly disrespectful- with eye rolls included. Moreover, they insisted that our insurance cards were invalid, which was a blatant lie. They told my husband if he wanted his 2 medications that he'd have to pay $350 for one and over $400 for the other or he could go without. This heartless and callous treatment left my husband in tears and ready to just give up. The incompetence and lack of empathy displayed by the staff at this Walgreens store is nothing short of disgraceful. Thankfully, we sought help elsewhere and visited Safeway pharmacy(also on Mount Rushmore). Not only were the prices reasonable (saved $700), but the staff at Safeway were compassionate, understanding, and genuinely cared about my husband's well-being. No patient- no person should ever have to endure such treatment. I cannot emphasize enough how strongly I discourage anyone from patronizing this...
Read moreI called at 2:43 wondering if my son’s script was ready and was told it would be done within the hour. She then asked me for my phone number so I could get a text when the script is ready. Never got a text message. I went up to the counter to ask if the script was ready due to not getting the text message. The fat gal at the front said it’s not ready and rolled her eyes. I told her that I didn’t get a text so that’s why I’m double checking and asked if I could get to first text to sign up for alerts. She continued to roll her eyes and said I should get the text. I told her thank you which she ignored me and said nothing. I came back 45 minutes later to no text and waited in line to be told that there’s only one out of three ready and to give them 10-15 minutes. The drive through gal was nice but the fat one must have heard me and walked over to glare at me. I have a fussy baby with two other kids in the car. I was polite and understanding so lesson learned here, even if you’re kind to the staff, they’ll still treat...
