Like a previous review, this is my first time writing a review online but my experiences at Cornerstone have been so unacceptable, I believe it is very important that people read this prior to choosing this location as your primary healthcare provider. I have been a patient at Cornerstone for 4 years, and despite their receptionists that appear to take joy in being rude, the doctor I had was phenomenal. Since her departure one year ago, I have been passed around to 5 different people (I say people because some are not Doctors). Keep in mind that 4-5 doctors departing a practice in the span of one year speaks volumes about their office management and overall desire for people to be there. They have no idea who I am after 4 years and they are the prefect example of a practice that has 0 interest in the well being of their patients. One time in my 35 years, I had a major medical emergency and felt my doctor was the first person I should speak to. I called and as I cried on the phone to speak to my doctor, the receptionist replied "Can't this wait until Monday? ". I explained I had just lost someone very close to me and I was very depressed and not well. Again she said "Can't this wait until Monday?" Another example came today where I have a broken rib. The pain is still quite bad after 10 days and I called to see if they can help me. I was told to take Aleeve. As an athlete, I know the different levels of pain and knew it was not something Aleeve could handle. I went to a walk in clinic, who took to time to reexamine my x-rays, notice additional cartilage damage and prescribed the proper medication. He explained to me that another doctor may have been reluctant to prescribe me pain medication because they are addictive and doctors without a relationship with their patients would avoid such medications. When I explained that I have been going to the same practice for 4 years and I have not been prescribed pain medications in over two years, (when I broke my ankle), he smiled and said "Find a new practice." I could...

Horrifying desk service: Today at 4pm, I called up and asked to make an appointment on a Saturday (I have a demanding job and cannot be seen on weekdays). I was worried because the office denied my medication refill. (I've been on this medication for 5 years.) Also, because they denied the prescription, I could not get emergency medicine from the pharmacy. When I asked to make a brief appointment to affirm that I still needed the medication, I was told that I needed a physical... I had a physical less than 6 months ago. I told them that I did not need a physical, but a simple appointment to confirm that I still need my medication. They told me that they could get me in on a Tuesday, at which point I reminded them that I need weekends, and is there any way they could see me on a weekend so I could get the refill quickly. I was told that I wouldn't be able to get a Saturday appointment for a month, and if that didn't work for me, I should go find another doctor. The front desk basically told me to go !@#$ myself.
Staggeringly inept doctors: Earlier this year, I came in with a bad sore throat and a mild fever. I wanted to make sure it wasn't anything more serious, so I had come to get it checked out. The doctor did an extremely informal check and then declared that I must have a neck injury. He told me to massage it. I was shocked, so I said that I wanted to leave and go to an urgent care. As it turned out, the head of patient services happened to be there as I was asking to leave. She apologized and sent another doctor in to evaluate me. That doctor evaluated me and told me that I was, in fact, sick ,and they checked me for strep. I can't imagine how these doctors are when patient services...
Read moreI recently visited Hunterdon Cornerstone Family Practice due to an ear infection, and I wanted to share my experience. Fortunately, I went on a Tuesday midday when there were not many people, so I was seen quickly. However, I have to say that I was not entirely satisfied with the services provided.
Upon entering the clinic, I immediately noticed that the atmosphere was not as friendly as it had been in previous years. The staff seemed disinterested and lacked the warm demeanor I had come to expect. This change in ambiance was disappointing and made me feel somewhat uncomfortable.
When the Physician Assistant attended to me, I had hoped for a more thorough examination and interaction. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The PA briefly looked at my ear, diagnosed it as an infection, and swiftly prescribed antibiotics. What disappointed me most was the lack of engagement with my overall well-being. The PA did not inquire about how I was feeling or ask any questions to gain a better understanding of my symptoms. It felt like a rushed process that prioritized efficiency over patient care.
While I appreciate the promptness in being seen, I believe that a medical practice should prioritize patient comfort and attentiveness. It is essential for healthcare providers to create an environment where patients feel heard and understood. Regrettably, this was not my experience at Hunterdon Cornerstone Family Practice...
