Flemington Deli — Restaurant in Raritan Township

I stopped in today for lunch. I wanted to see for myself what the FBook hubbub was all about. I ordered the Cubano sandwich. It was quite flavorful. I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the sandwich; I brought some home, which would make any customer happy. The staff members were extremely friendly and courteous. It was wonderful to see the menu prices were reasonable for the amount one gets. What would’ve made this a 5 ⭐️ rating for me would be if they used Boar’s Head deli meats; Thumann’s products don’t come close to the quality of Boar’s Head. I inadvertently forgot to stop by the bank beforehand so I was forced to use my debit card. I didn’t like the 4% transaction fee tacked onto my check. Since COVID, the price of food in grocery stores AND restaurants has gone up enough for the consumer without having to tack on an additional charge. I was impressed with the quality, prices and selection of the flower pots located in front of the deli. They were quite beautiful. I don’t live locally to the deli, but will be back with my son. I brought home a sandwich for him and now he’d like to stop by with me. Awesome place 👍🏼. GET BOAR’S HEAD COLD CUTS, PLEASE....

OVER CHARGED, PRICES WRONG and not updated, owner nicely acknowledged and only said sorry! Deli has an overhead electronic menu as you walk in with prices. Hand written sign that says they charge 4%for credit cards and price of coffee. I paid cash. After I paid I realized I over paid $3. Went to the counter, nicely spoke to the owner and after readding said Oh, I forgot we had a menu increase but did not change the menu yet. He was polite but only said sorry. If you can hand write signs for coffee and credit cards, you can at least notify your customers of prices increases prior to purchase. Not to offer a refund or credit is bad business. How many others will be over charged before your menu is corrected.

I am not upset that the prices increaesed and the menu is not updated, this happens everywhere. It is the lack of notification and signage and not making it right.

I will 100% be back. Come support a family run business with amazing service and food! I knew the place would be great when I ordered a salad and they asked if I was okay with a wait, and the wait was less than 5 minutes. The micro garden salad was super fresh, and the pumpkin cheesecake muffin was one of the best I’ve ever had. Every single detail of the store is thought out and absolutely adorable, with lots of flowers for sale! There is a wide variety of seating outdoors and they will walk the food out to you.
