DO NOT GO HERE!!!! (Read below) 👇 Absolutely the worst place I have ever been to for medication for mental health. Staff & DOCTORS are EXTREMELY rude. They don’t care about your health or if you’re on a medication that has helped you tremendously! They will bounce you around doctor to doctor & make Inexcusable changes to your medication without getting the full picture. I have been on a ADHD medication for years, with no issues!
I started a new medication for depression beginning of this year & have been experiencing hair loss at the start of this year. I called for a telemedicine appointment to stop depression medication as soon as possible, because it could be causing hair loss because it’s a highly likely side effect of this medication. I explain my situation to a doctor, he isn’t even my normal physician (mine was on vacation) & instead of listening to my concerns, talks down to me like I’m some kind of addicted (explained more below)
I know that coming off of depression medication can cause withdrawals if stopped unexpectedly, Because I did my own research before doctor & And asked him if I should tape her off of it. Then he says I need to come in for a drug test & I asked why? He said anyone Prescribed a narcotic, needs to be tested. Which I had no problem doing but I asked him why & that’s when he started getting really NASTY!
I only started Going to this office because I was looking for telehealth doctor, because of my busy schedule & now, all of a sudden they want me to come into the office for something that’s never even brought to my attention before this.
He then takes me off my ADHD medication that I have been on for years, makes no sense! Because my ADHD is a “controlled substance” & I previously had a medical cannabis card, not even active anymore & I don’t smoke recreationally, he said they don’t prescribe this ADHD medication to people with a medical marijuana, Just to remind you, marijuana is legal in New Jersey! I feel like he was “judging me” without even knowing me or my case.
He was rude and condescending. Straight out had an attitude, raised voice & wouldn’t let me get a word in. A hour later, I get a call saying they are sending over 2 weeks of my medication & I could either find a new doctor or wait 2 weeks to talk to my Original prescriber that would be back from vacation & go from there. During this call, I asked if they sent over script already, they said “yes” well guess what? They NEVER sent it over. I called them two days in row, left a message & still no call. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!!!!
I can’t even put in the words how much stress they put me in this last week, while my health was already declining. Please do not use this...
Read moreI've seen many at this location & most of them, but one, have been nice, supportive & friendly. The location/atmosphere, convenience (cvs right across pavilion), access to major highways/hospital across the street & many other positives are right there.
Not that it should matter, superfice aside, but very classy/non-judgmental place/location compared to others with a relaxed feel & and I've been to many in the past. I use Hunterdon Healthcare & everything is noted so that all practitioners can treat you as best as they can.
I've seen them for several years, take my mental/physical health seriously & am now leading an increased quality of life both physically and mentally. My life has changed, & continues to do so. I don't believe that mental health can be improved overnight & the medications/increases are not meant to do that either, but to work slowly for improvements which may be reached with time; that seems to be their approach, and obviously not everyone is a fan.
I agree with one reviewer that yes, this is a no-frills, serious approach to mental health, and drug seekers/bs artists & such are not going to be tolerated. They are also very flexible with payments and at times I've seen to where they can be put on convenient payment plans which can excent months. I have noticed a more strict approach if one suggests certain medications, that may not be prescribed due to disagreements; doses are also adjusted to what the doctor seems is necessary & medications are also taken seriously. Just because there is an increase in doses does not imply that they simply want to 'drug one up.'
There are many books written on subject matters involving why one should not seek psychiatric help and many are also against drugs.
Do NOT use this place for your own needs if you are going to negate it/others there at do seem to try their best with the time they have available; they are also flexible with time. It's not about you solely as there are other patients like ME & many others who have differing views; it's not all about you, and it is offensive for others to slam a place because of their own individual views; consider others.
I've only met one psychiatrist, that was relatively cold & judgmental because frankly, we're all different people and not everyone is 100% suited for one, but upon further insight just found out that that is their personality, and it is nothing personal. They are otherwise great at their job.
I believe that many people want practices/practitioners to suit their own individual needs as close to 100% and that's not going to happen.
If you are not happy, go elsewhere. It's that simple.
Sorry. ...
Read moreI am not going to spend this review trashing this facility, but I do think as someone who struggles with my own mental health issues I owe it to other patients to protect them from my same experience. I have been frustrated with this facility for years. I have seen three different doctors over the course of one year and I have continuously felt ignored and looked down on by their doctors and staff.
I have asked for medications, doctors notes, letters to my university, and even when I am told "yes, we can do that for you" by the staff, then I am then told "no" by the doctors.
I even had one of their doctors make me feel that I am "damaged" to use her exact words.
I am currently in school to become a therapist. I have been told that if nothing else, you always approach your patients with mental health disabilities with kindness, respect, and understanding.
I feel this facility has not only failed to treat me with all of those things, but actually done the opposite. I feel they have been cold and distant, disrespectful and rude, insensitive and unable to perceive my situation from my point of view.
Maybe their staff is overworked, maybe their doctors are underpaid, but there really is no excuse for unkindness at the end of the day.
I'd like to see it fixed. I'd like to see the facility fulfill it's responsibility as a place of safety for those with mental health disabilities, but until then, I will not...
