A few years ago, we took my father-in-law's gold jewelry in to have appraised for sale. We were given the pieces by my mother in law after his passing. The owner was so offensively rude to us... Accusing us of stealing the pieces and lying about her father's death. He also kept calling me "boy" in a purposely rude manner (I was in my mid 30s at the time). My wife's clasp broke off of her neck chain. I went to albins, I received a quote of $28 to to attach the clasp back onto the chain. I asked if I could wait for it and she told me no because the jeweler was busy, I asked if it could be done today? She says yes but it would be double. So instead of $28 it would be $56. Needless to say I refused to do business with this company. The lady was very nice and polite. It probably would have taken about 5 minutes to do the repair, I did not need any parts for the chain it just needed to be welded back to the clasp. I did not feel as if they wanted my business. All sorts of beautiful jewelry, some at low rated prices 40% off the retail price. I've never had any problems with any of the staff there, Family owned. I think the owner/father is retired but sometimes still services the customers. Maybe he has bad days where he should just stay in the back, attitudes for no reason. I always prefer for one of the other family members like one of his kids to wait on me. So I dont get caught up in one of his attitudes like my daughter did over a $10 return.
