Words cannot express how happy I am with my hair, but I shall try... I've been coloring my own hair for many years and got myself into a pickle when I tried going lighter. It looked awful and needed to be fixed by a professional. I've heard good things about Yanni Erbeli, so I checked out their insta, saw pics of the exact highlights I wanted, clicked on the colorist's profile, saw more of her highlight/bayalage work and that she was a lightening specialist, so I booked a consultation with her for the next day. The vibe, staff, decor and everything at Yanni Erbeli is top notch. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. Lejla and I had a great consultation. She was lovely, fun, honest and professional. The way she wanted to ensure my hair's health and integrity while achieving the color I wanted meant a lot to me and says a lot about her as a colorist and person. As someone who's worked in a few hair salons, I've had my hair done many times and had all kinds of experiences, both good and bad, the bad being one of the colorists I worked with went overboard once and the top half of my hair broke off, making me look like a female Joe Dirt. I was concerned about losing a lot of hair, as well as the change in texture. Of course as we all do I googled causes for hair loss and I immediately knew I needed to make an appointment w my hairdresser. I was chatting with some other people who shared the same concern and someone mentioned a Trichologist. “A what!?” I thought, but you go to the orthopedic for bones right, so why not see a trichologist for your hair. That lead me to have an appointment at Yanni Erbeli Salon & Spa with Matt. Matt is a Certified US Trichologist and I was very excited for this appointment. It was an easy drive from my home, parking was not an issue at all and I was impressed with how quiet and relaxing the salon was since it is on a really busy street in Red bank. When you walk it’s very open and comfortable. You are not hit in the face with chemicals and it is very spacious and everyone is very friendly. Matt took his time evaluating my scalp and explained to me how important it was for scalp care and not just going through the motions of washing your hair. He explained each step of the process and why it was important. My scalp has never has felt so light and clean. I went back 3 more tokes after that. This is not something you want to miss out on.
