I am writing this review in my car as I am digesting all of the magic my girlfriend and I experienced here. I'll start off with the food because I'm sure that's what most interests you.

Having gone to Rutgers, I've had my fair share of Indian food. This place is hands down the best I've ever had! The blend of spices was so perfectly balanced that you could tell each dish was cooked with love. Eating the Lamb Korma, I could feel the anxieties I've been carrying since this pandemic started slipping away, bite by bite. The paneer masala was smothered in a velvety red potion of everything that is good with this world. We also spoke with one of the owners, Puja, who was extremely warm and hospitable. She recommended that we try the Methi Malai Mutter and she was absolutely on point! The food alone is enough to have me planning future trips here.

But good food isn't enough to get me to write a review like this. The ambiance in here is spectacular, I could tell that the owners have been meticulous in their efforts to make their creation come to life. It is very warm and open and I'm pretty sure everyone there had a smile on their face, both staff and patrons!

They are making sure to stop the spread of covid by taking serious precautions while still offering incredible service. Diana was extremely attentive to our needs and made us feel like we were welcomed guests. We didn't have to ask for refills on water (which is really big for me, don't ask me why. It just is 🤣) and the empty dishes pretty much disappeared as soon as the last morsel of goodness was served to one of our plates.

You can tell that everyone who works here loves what they do and that translates into a recipe for success in any venture. And when it is applied to a restaurant, it turns me into a very loyal, happy, and satisfied customer!

Finding this restaurant gave me hope in this dark time and reminds me that there is still beauty to be found in this world. Hopefully I'll see you there sometime because my girlfriend and I are already planning...

I sing at St.James right around the corner from Bombay river, and after mass we could smell some delicious food from the parking lot. One of the priests mentioned that it was Bombay River and my partner started to look at the menu online.

He has nut allergies, we both have a lactose intolerance, and I have celiac disease...quite a pair lol ANYWAYS..he stepped away to call and came back with such great info. The entire menu is NUT free, egg free, they have a ton of gluten sensitive options (to be made gluten free) and have plenty vegetarian/vegan options as well. (As a note, most of the time, I CAN eat from a kitchen that shares space with gluten, I know some people with celiac disease cannot).

We ended up walking over, and meeting the man who spoke to my partner on the phone. He was so wonderful, and was happy to break down the menu for us. We both love Indian food and were excited to try something new without worrying about allergies or getting "glutened".

I ordered a dish I don't normally see on the menu of our Indian food place (mango chicken korma) and my partner got a lovely nut free chicken biriyani. We were the happiest clams. Both were so flavorful and presented so beautifully.

We also had a mango lassi (the best I've ever had...and I've had a lot) and a delicious potato appetizer (aloo tikki).

The have options for spice levels as well. (In case you're not keen on the spices, you can choose your spicy.)

All in all, I LOVED the food. I had no digestive issues. I loved the ambiance! I felt very happy to eating such good food and I thought the service was great.

I haven't been loving going out to eat lately, and I can assure you internet world (and Bombay River) that I...

Everything was great including the AMAZING level of hospitality. The hostess was above and beyond accommodating. It was our first time in Red Bank and were unaware of the parking problems. She guided us through the process via the phone!!! Although we arrived late for our reservation we were not made to feel rushed in any way. In fact, the hostess even called us to ensure/ confirm we were still interested in keeping our reservation before just canceling it because we were late! Thank you. Upon entering we were politely and promptly greeted. The restaurant smells ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL & and the decor is beautiful. All staff were neat, clean and well groomed. The restaurant (including the bathroom) is neat and clean. All food items were fresh , hot and delicious. The food is PERFECTLY seasoned. The tandoori chicken was the MOST TENDER I’ve EVER had in ANY Indian restaurant I’ve eaten in. It was TRULY cooked to PERFECTION. My dinner partner had the chicken but I sampled a piece! I had a vegetarian meal with broccoli and other vegetables in a creamy gravy. I can’t remember the name of it but it was EXCELLENT. We had two different types of naan and both were delicious as well. For dessert we had pistachio gelato with chocolate syrup infused. OMG!!! It was AMAZING. Thank you so much to all of the GREAT staff at Bombay River for creating a wonderful and memorable dining experience for us. The next time I’m in NJ I will take the 35 minute drive to eat here again.

I gave Bombay River 5 out of 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What did the Indian restaurant owner say when his son asked to become the chef? "Tikka chance son" 😅 Here's my list of pros and cons.... Pros: - Enchanting dimmed ambiance transports you to India! - Exceptionally friendly and attentive service makes you feel like family! - Akash, the owner, warmly introduced himself, adding a personal touch! - Divine desserts with sugar-conscious options satisfy your sweet cravings! - Honey Chili Crispy Lotus Starter is an absolute must-try - don't miss out! - Vinni and Dolcita deliver outstanding service, making you feel welcome! - Every dish is a flavor explosion - delicious beyond words! - Tender lamb that's cooked to perfection, no gamey flavor! - Spotless and odor-free environment ensures a comfortable dining experience! - Portion sizes are just right - not too much, not too little! - Condiments are a highlight - try both mango and yogurt-based for a treat! Cons: - None! Bombay River exceeds expectations with its authentic Indian flavors, warm atmosphere, and exceptional service! 🍴👍 Follow me on Google for more ❤️

We initially wanted to go to a different restaurant in the area but didn’t realize it was closed. We were starving and looked for other places nearby that was open and found this! Let’s first go through all the positives.. 1. Friendly staff. They were very welcoming. 2. The food is delivered very fast. 3. Lasooni gobi and chili naan are a must try. The baigan bartha and briyani were tasty but could have been better. 4. The quantity is good for two people to share Things that could have been better 1. It is pretty pricey. The ambience is nice but not very fine dine for the price 2. They gave onions and raitha in a cup that was wrapped in plastic. This made the experience feel like a fast food take out place and not a nice dine in place 3. The water glasses were very dusty. The water is provided in a water bottle where the cap needs to be handled by the customers by pinching a portion so that the water comes out. Didn’t find it very hygienic.
