Beartooth Market — Local services in Red Lodge

This store is unequivocally, absolutely, the worst grocery store I have ever been so unfortunate to reluctantly give money. We subscribed to a meal service because it is literally cheaper than shopping here. I'm not being hyperbolic, item by item the markup of a 3rd party meal service is cheaper and the food is higher quality than this grocery store. And no... the small town excuse doesn't fly when we're less than an hour away from the biggest city in Montana, especially when isolated towns like Thermopolis prove to have wonderful grocery stores. There's no excuse other than greed. The worst offender isn't the terrible produce, limited selection, or complete lack of a bulk foods section, but a predatory pricing strategy. The owners intersperse universally jacked-up prices with often unmarked landmines. $40 for a pie, $12 for low-grade bacon, $9 for mayo, etc. They're the only store in town, they know it, and exploit it to the fullest. Looking at other reviews makes me think the people living here have Stockholm syndrome to this stupid store. On. Date.April.08.2014 , i went to beartooth market/Red Lodge. During My Visit. i have Seen , gatorde on sell at .50 cents. each....

when i have checked my receipt , i found they charge me 1.25 $ each gatorde in place of 0.50 cents... i went back.. & try to infoirm them.. very softly..counter lady. was not ready to listen.. me.. & threaten me... to call police on me... actually i was very soft & polite & trying to recover my overcharges... so during this communication.... why should she threaten me for police.. i dont under stand.......

this is not right way to handle .. customer... when i asked for gm. she told me to come tomorrow to meet him.. very rudly..... that is not good......

I was just in not even 10 minutes ago and I was immediately disrespected by your employee Sarahann while trying to buy food at the only open register. I walked up and was greeted with "nope I'm walking away" with a snard remark after. I feel if there is only 1 open lane I shouldn't be disrespected for going to it and trying to buy products. She has been a major issue for many people for almost a year now and I'm sick of feeling uncomfortable going into a store where I buy my needed food. I would love to come into a store and not feel targeted...
