So I've lived in billings for almost 3 years and yesterday I finally made it out to redlodge for the first time. Enjoyed a beautiful hike with my family and we all decided we were starving and could go for some pizza. Wasn't to busy for 530ish on a Sunday but still took a bit to be greeted. We had 8 people total 4 adults 4 kids. Orders were pretty simple few slices couple salads artichok dip and a pizza roll and 2 pizzas an individual one and a medium. After sitting there quit awhile food slowly started coming out. Everyone but my brother and I were eating when we were told the pizzas were just a few minutes behind (not a big deal) after waiting a few more minutes we decided to step outside for a second. When we came back in someone who wasn't our server was talking to our wives apologizing and stating that our pizza had just disappeared. That they would remake them and box them up for us as they knew everyone else would be done eating by the time they were done. After waiting another half hour and only eating my daughter's crust she didn't want of her one slice of cheese they finally bring out the pizzas. Starving I go to grab one slice of my small individual pizza and scarf it down before I drive back to billings and the entire underside was undercooked and all I got again was a peice of crust. I did not say anything because I didn't have anymore time to wait and they had already offered to remove both pizzas from the bill. My daughter was very upset because she wanted some ice cream but I did not want to stay there any longer. Luckily the candy store down the road was open and she was able to still get a treat and I was able to eat something other than crust. To top it all off my wife who got a slice of pepperoni and cheese was barley able to make it to laurel before dealing with some stomach issues. Very upset with how my first experience with red lodge restaurants went and still confused why everyone said I was missing out because I had never been. Will probably give the town another shot but not this "pizza" place that...
Read moreFirst off, I have no idea why this place is rated so high. Perhaps it's (no offense) because Red Lodge is fairly secluded/rural? Anyway,
Right off the bat, we were met with poor service. We entered and the host asked how many, to which we replied "two." We saw several open tables and booths, but the host replied "uh, just one minute..." ~5 minutes later, they came back to take us to one of the empty booths. Odd, but I set it aside. As our host grabbed our menus, she knocked one down on the floor, and just left it there. Why wouldn't you pick that up right away? Am I missing something? Still, very odd, but whatever. Looking over the menu, everything was shockingly overpriced. Even a personal, tiny cheese pizza was pricey, and extra toppings were $1 each, even on the tiniest, personal size. I'm not sure if this is the norm for pizza around here, but it's definitely not the standard anywhere else. I'm not even a "big city" person, from Washington suburbs, but the prices were insane for the very child-like atmosphere and appeal the restaurant gave off. An appetizer of garlic fries was $9! Is this normal for this area? Our waitress was fairly crass when asking us about what we wanted to drink, but we hadn't looked over the menu enough to order food yet. Decided against it, for obvious reasons. Since we already ordered drinks, we just asked for a to go cup, paid for them, and left. As we left, I saw a different waitress bring a table their pizza, and the crust was noticeably burned.
I'd worked in pizza for several years, and this place was an embarrassment. Overall: poor service, ridiculous prices for its setting, and unappetizing looking pizza. Maybe if you're a foreseeably permanent resident, this place will appeal to you, but as an "outsider," this...
Read moreWe had a super long day of travel. Had read up on this place before leaving home and we love pizza. We were tired so decided to order a pizza, pick it up and bring it back. GPS directions took us to the end of the street - it's actually right in the middle of downtown. Crazy busy. They sent a text that the pizza was ready and after trying for 10 minutes to find a place to park to go in and get the pizza - only to find that it was packed and they don't have someone that gets you your to-go order. I had to wait for 4 shakes and 2 ice cream sundaes and one table to get bussed before he would get me my pizza. I asked him midway if he could just grab it and he said I had to be patient and that there were heaters above the pizza. We were about 1/2 mile from restaurant and by the time we got back to the room - pizza was lukewarm. Never will...
