As with any ski town, bring your own groceries. If you do need anything else, you should be fine with Der Markt. It was well-stocked.
I needed red pepper flakes, parsley, olive oil, and two packages of frozen garlic bread. I got all of these at Der Markt for around $17.
Some other notes: The store does smell like oil. It’s not overpowering. Some produce (parsley) is placed in individual ziploc bags. It was still good quality, just a little strange. Some of the meat looked a little suspicious, and was close to its expiration. Your call on what you buy.
All in all, it’s a well-stocked small grocery. I cook a lot and I care about my ingredients, and I was distraught when I forgot some critical components. I was prepared to go to Questa or even Taos, but it turned out everything I needed was...

He should not be in position to communicate with customers. Keep him hidden in the back. What a nasty person! I told my daughter to grab a bottle of rum for me and when we checked out he said we had to put it back bc she grabbed it. Even though he watched her grab it for me I assumed he meant put it back in shelf and bring it myself so I did. He raised voice at me and I said there’s no cause to be rude. I thought that’s what he wanted me As he rudely yelled and acted as I was trying to outsmart him “no !!!! put it back - you can’t buy it now!!!”. I have no problem with rules. But no need to treat customers that way. I was in shock how he...

Overall, it's a great store to have in a vacation/tourist town because they have a ton of selection for a small town, and I'm amazed by how much variety they've got in a fairly small space. As expected, the prices are high since 1) it's a tourist town, and 2) they're the only grocery store in town, but that's to be expected.
On our recent trip last week, we went into the store almost daily for random things we needed during the trip. During one stop into Der Markt, my wife had a really bad experience with an extremely rude employee at the checkout counter that embarrassed her and yelled at her for not using the little grocery dividers that you put on the conveyers. His behavior was totally uncalled for and...
