Main Street Mercantile, Red River NM — Local services in Red River

Well, it was some time ago that I visited Red River, NM. I was on a 6 month visit to stay with friends in Lubbock, TX and we spent a week in a cabin near the resort. The little town is clearly a beloved skiing area, but we were there in the summer. It was a magical place. The people were beyond friendly and the little shops and stalls, restaurants and bars were really very lovely. I remember buying a silver ring made locally and I wear it every day even now, 23 years later.

We ventured out to various little placed in the vicinity of Red River... As far as Taos and Taos Pueblo which I loved. There's loads to do and loads to see... The hills and mountains are stunning. Go explore... You will be...

We try to head to Red River at least once a year and this is one of many places we shop. I understand the other reviews about rude employees. There is one lady that works there, or could be the owner, that is always short and not so friendly. She has been there everytime we've visited. Just gives off a feeling of being put out to even have to ring you up. You have to reach practically on the otherside of the counter because she does not give you your bag after check out. Just...

No one needs to be lectured. I was wearing a mask just as a courtesy but the sales girl was rude to other shoppers. She checked them out (so I guess their money was good) but then proceeded to lecture them about not wearing a mask. Last I checked we still live in a free country. Anyway I don’t need what she’s selling and there’s lots of other stores to shop in, so I left without buying the things...
