UPDATE: I just noticed Steam refunded my purchase in full. I sincerely thank you for this and feel the wrong has been righted. I bumped up review from 1 to 3 stars. I’d award 4 stars for the coffee, but 3 because the challenge happened in the first place.
Original review: As usual, I’ll start with the good... Coffee is yummy. Iced espresso hit the spot. Now, the BAD... Ordered a blueberry muffin. Assumed (my bad) it would be fresh (‘seemed’ like that kinda’ place). A packaged, sugar loaded, muffin (not to mention way over priced - oh I did just mention it), was placed on the counter. I immediately asked to return it just as my card went through. Gal helping me asked guy in place (I assume manager on duty?) to return it. He said no. Said “even a gas station wouldn’t return food.” I explained that it was still sealed, I had‘t touched it (OK, I did read the wrapper) and I simply didn’t want it. He still said no. I left muffin on counter, offered it to anyone in store who might want it, and told fella I thought this was terribly poor customer service; he still gave me song and dance, but wished me a nice day. I will have a nice day, but ‘steam coffee’ certainly wasn’t part of it. Stop in for good coffee, but don’t be surprised by poor service. I’ll add, same guy was super abrupt and unfriendly right when I walked in. Lighten up ‘bro’. Let’s analyze... IF guy had simply returned muffin: I would have come back for lunch after my bike ride (was excited about their burrito), no frustration would have occurred, this negative review wouldn’t have happened, and happiness would prevail. He could have even simply thrown away the muffin if it was a health concern (which I...
Read moreMy family and I have been coming here for multiple years now, and have had fairly good experiences thus far. Hip space, small seating area. Probably 4-5 stars on average, with a few drinks here and there that were lacking.
This week we went twice and I don't believe we will be back. I've been to hundreds of coffee shops and I've never been treated as poorly as I was this week. Drinks were made poorly. Baristas extremely unwelcoming, and rude, and openly swore in front of us even with children in the area. The second time we went this week we hoped it was a one-off but it was even worse. Half of us simply left in disgust.
It's hard to find workers right now, the baristas were by themselves, and there were lines. So I completely understand the stress. I have been there personally. But the owner/manager needs to coach the workers on how to keep their emotions in check. You will continue to lose customers with service like this. I hope they maybe spend more time in their shop making sure the customer experience is truly welcoming. Because it most certainly was not. Maybe we will try this shop in the future but odds are we will be going to Barely Awake down the street. More space, friendly faces, and better prices for...
Read moreMy family and I visited Red River this weekend.. we were ready to support some local businesses however this business seriously disappointed us! When we got there my friend was fixing her mask as the guy tells her very rudely put on your mask! Which we understood but we would have appreciated if it were said nicer... we proceed to order and he says what do you want we were calm and ordered we gave him a discount card which we were very happy to have to be treated as locals and he says “it’s nothing special just 10%” very rudely again later my brother order and he asked for a little bit of ice on his drink and he said “ I can only give so much little ice” we tried to understand him and still be polite so we paid and as we were leaving We realized this guy uses his finger to remove what’s left of the coffee grounds From the portafilter and the puts it like that on the machine and starts the shot all of this without gloves and while handling money and credit cards whaat??? On top of that I asked for a simple iced latte with vanilla and had to throw away the entire thing.. please change your coffee or change your attitude so at least it’s worth...
