Elaine has been a source of motivation and assurance during a difficult time. I suffered from a bulging disc between my L5/S1 discs. It was never entirely clear what caused the issue, but a lifetime of falls to the butt coupled with a new trainer pushing deadlifts on me could not have been helpful. I had explored many different treatment options (physical therapy, personal trainers, chiropractors, masseuses, doctors, yoga) and all merely alleviated symptoms without truly helping the root of the problem. I have been friends with Elaine for some time and hearing that she was transitioning into this new study, I was very eager to get her expertise on the matter.
When I came to Elaine, I was not very mobile and had difficulties with many of the movements. She was very encouraging and patient, being very diligent about a slow pace to identify my limits in a safe manner. We did an intake to identify the major pain points and current treatments and outcomes. Elaine was very thorough about isolating the specific motions and muscles to improve. A few weeks later she had a detailed 30 minute - 1 hour routine that was meant to engage muscles in a way to help stretch and strengthen them while not applying pressure to the lower back area. Elaine set up a wonderful environment to run through the routine together and clearly demonstrated each component. All through this she was diligent about ensuring the right body parts were feeling stretched or contracted as to be expected without over extending in any sensitive areas. After the session I felt very relaxed and a lot less painful, having both my body and mind eased. Elaine also prepared a cute and detailed diagram of the exercises and how long to sustain each pose so I could practice on my own.
Elaine has been monumental in my recovery. I am very pleased to say I have over 90% of my mobility back and little pain doing the mundane tasks that had caused me such grief when initially diagnosed. Elaine's dedication and positive energy has played a great role in helping me overcome my challenges mentally, as well as physically.    Read moreElaine has been helping me with some yoga and diet/nutrition sessions. I was impressed how she took such a complete history of me in the beginning to really understand what issues I was having, and she tailored the sessions to fit my needs. The yoga sessions are great, and I always feel fantastic afterward. Elaine has been good about trying to prod me to put our sessions into action at home more often, which has been difficult with a young child at home and lots of other things going on in my life to where I often feel overwhelmed.
The nutrition sessions have been absolutely wonderful; Elaine is full of lots of tips and tricks on quick and simple ways to get more nutritious, whole foods into your life, from recipes she has gathered, recommended cooking blogs, farmer's market delivery sites, and turning me on to several foods that I didn't realize were so packed with vitamins and minerals that my body was really craving. I can tell that my nails and joints have improved due to some of the new foods I have added to my diet, and I now have an ample number of very simple, delicious, nutritious meals that can be prepared for my family quickly, rather than falling into the pit of eating out more than we should.
Elaine has also been working with me on building healthy habits, such as committing to going to bed earlier at night, how to fit exercise more easily into my daily routine, and keeping a daily, 5-minute diary of affirmations and goals. ...

I started working with Elaine because I followed her work for a while and needed genuine guidance to help myself. Elaine was patient, thorough, empathetic and displayed such warmth in our initial consultation. It's rare in any practitioner. I started with small but impactful practices which did not deplete me but gave me a sense of reclaiming my body. As I improved, Elaine tailored the entire practice to my progress and needs. Prior to working with Elaine, I was unable to get out of bed, I even missed our first session! She was gracious and rescheduled for another time.
