We came here many years ago and the food tasted like cigarettes because a bar was attached. Decided to give it another go, and wish we hadn't. The food is still subpar Mexican food, they benefit from a good location and a good pool of waitstaff which I've seen working at other restaurants in the Kirkland area.
That being said, I did a call in order and ended up being double charged. That's not a big deal, mistakes happen. But when I called in to get a refund I happened to get the owner, I believe, who apparently does not know how to give refunds or research charges, so he referred me to the manager who wouldn't be in for a week. He did it in sort of a patronizing tone suggesting I couldn't read my own statement. Keep in mind I feel like I'm doing them a favor by not immediately charging this back. Calling back a week later I get the owner again. He says the manager will be in tomorrow in an even more patronizing tone?? Apparently forgot he told me he would be in Thursday. Now I'm getting annoyed. I call in the next day and the manager still is not in and will not be in till 5 PM this is the last time I will call in I tell the same owner entity person. So I call it 5 PM, finally get the manager, he takes down my information including my phone number. I expect a pretty prompt reply, needless to say, as this post would indicate I never hear a thing back from him, no refund, nothing. So I ended up having to charge this back myself.
Seems like a very bad way of doing business, not only have they lost what was possibly a pretty regular visitor, they lost whatever's been affected by this review, and they've been charged back. We'll see if they dispute the...
Read moreSeveral friends and I ate lunch here after exploring the Seattle Premium Outlets. We Googled nearby Mexican restaurants, this was close. Despite the mixed reviews, we gave it a shot!
We came on a Monday at 1:30pm for dine-in, it wasn’t too busy. We were greeted with a smile and promptly seated at a booth.
Atmosphere, 4/5: spacious, bright colors, good natural light, music wasn’t too loud, and the food smelled delicious. As an added bonus, the dining area and washrooms were very clean!
Service 5/5: our server had great energy, brought chips and salsa right away and refilled chips before we ran out. He was eager to please and happily accommodated dietary restrictions.
Food 2.5/5: our food arrived accurately, quickly, and hot. I got a Veggie Burrito, it was subpar, but the bigger issue was the excessive salt. I chugged water while at the restaurant and drank two bottles of water on the drive home. I thought it was just me until my friend remarked how thirsty she was. Another friend got Beef or Pork Tacos, he said they were ok, but remarked on the saltiness. Prices weren’t great. My burrito was $20, didn’t come with beans and rice, and they charged an additional $1.50 for a dollop of sour cream.
Overall, 3/5: seats were comfy and the booth gave some privacy. We were all pleased with the service! Unfortunately, the negatives… I’ve eaten at many Mexican restaurants from Bellingham through Seattle, but due to the high-salt, and having paid less for better food (IMO) at several other places, for those reasons, I don’t intend to return. I hate to say that since the service and atmosphere are great, but I have to be honest...
Read moreJust flew in from Texas and wanted to enjoy some Mexican food. I make it a point to test out the Mexican restaurants for every state I go to. I'm not trying to be insulting, I'm trying to be as objective as possible about a subjective thing like taste.
The salsa tasted awful and had some weird taste to it. No not cilantro, I love cilantro, this salsa tasted like... I'm not trying to be rude but it tasted like I ate something expired and rotten. It had no spice, no kick, and tasted bad. I had to eat my chips plain.
The price for everything looks to be nearly 20$+ for a single person to have a single meal. I'm not trying to spend $60 for a quick bite to eat after a flight, maybe $40 or $50 with the top included but wow.
The refried beans are watery and soupy. The chicken has no flavor and tastes like it was boiled and shredded without any seasoning.
Service was great, they were very attentive. I wasn't trying to be a pain but they could see me picking apart my meal and staring at it so disappointed so they did offer to exchange my meal so I went for some tacos to be safe and test that out.
I don't recall ever going to a Mexican restaurant that covered the entire plate so much in lettuce that you physically could not see anything else and have to dig around for where things are, only to find watery chicken, tortas, beans, etc, under it all. Idk what is going on there, it wasn't like any other time I order these dishes. Even my wife got a chimichanga and the plate had like 50%+ lettuce.
6.Okay the tacos were alright but still felt very under seasoned. They need some spice in here. Friendly...
