This is a great shop with a vast selection of comics, video games and toys. Iām primarily a collector of Silver and Bronze age comics and find that Amazing Heroes has one of the best selections in the areaā¦everything from high-grade, professionally graded (by independent third party grading services like CBCS and CGC) issues to reasonably priced āreader copiesā. It seem like every time I visit the store I find a back issue Iād been looking for (and often a bunch I didnāt even know I was looking for) and always at a great price.
Iām not much of a vintage game collector, but it looks like they have a wide selection of both software and hardware (the last time I was in I saw a Vectrex consoleā¦something I always wanted as a kid).
If you collect Funko Pop figures, Amazing Heroes has a huge selection. Iāve found a number of harder to find Pops here, priced lower than Iāve seen them offered elsewhere. I think they get their Funko shipments earlier than a lot of stores, as Iāve found some Pops here a month or so before theyāve popped up in GameStop or other local comic shops.
Amazing Heroes also buys collections. Iāve brought over a number of old console games and comics to sell and felt that what I was offered was more than I would have gotten from other shops. Sure, I could have gotten more had I sold them as a collector to other collectors (via eBay, Mercari, etc), but I donāt have the time or wherewithal to go that route. As is common when selling vintage items to a retailer, I was offered cash or more in trade credit. Being there is always someting I find in the shop, I opted for trade credit and was not disappointed. It cracks me up that people complain that they arenāt offered full, collector price for their items. Newsflash: no retail establishment pays full retail price for what they sellā¦be it new items from a manufacturer or distributor or collectible items from an individual. Also, every market is differentā¦a store will offer more for something that they know they can turn over fast and will offer less if it is an item that they believe will take a long time to sell.
Iām always greeted when I enter the store, thanked when exiting (even if I donāt make a purchase) and have found the customer service to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have to say that I am incredibly disappointed in the business practices of this store. My boyfriend WHO LIVES IN SEATTLE and DOES NOT HAVE A CAR, went all the way to Kirkland on the bus to buy me a Nintendo NES that he saw advertised by Amazing Heroes on Craig's List. While he was there HE WAS TALKED INTO a gold "special edition" version. He thought I would love it because it was different and was charged almost three times as much for this console. He gave it to me last night and this "special edition" was spray painted with gold paint. There were also a few games included one of which was another "special edition" Super Mario Bros that was also gold. While I am touched by the thought behind my boyfriend's gift (since I have wanted one for a while now) I am upset about the business practices Amazing Heroes employs.
I work in marketing and have worked in Customer Service for a number of Fortune 500 and small mom & pop companies. This is not how you get or retain customers. I am going to report this business to the Better Business Bureau and tell everyone I know that AMAZING HEROES HAS SHADY...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe guy at Amazing Heroes in Kirkland is either an idiot or straight-up lied to me, robbing $7 from me. I asked point blank, "Hey, do you know if this Clone Wars/Tetris Worlds XBox Disk will play on the XBox 360?" The girl there (who was very nice and attentive and friendly, btw) had to get the attention of the guy with the shaved head, who seemed annoyed that I wanted to give him money in exchange for goods and/or services. He begrudgingly looked it up and said "According to The Wiki, it will work". I asked again, "You sure? The two-game disk?" He seemed insulted, repeated that it was on the Wiki. So then I asked if they had any kind of return policy for if it didn't work, he ANGRILY said "NO RETURNS ON ANY PURCHASES". I tried to lighten the mood and said "Ha ha, well okay then... but if it doesn't work, it's your store's reputation that's on the line!" "IT'S ON THE WIKI" was his reply. I bought the game and got it home. Popped it in, the console says "This disk is not playable on the XBox 360 platform". Since I now have access to The Internet, I look it up on the Wiki, and it IS NOT listed on the Wiki Page of XBox Games playable on the XBox 360. Not sure why this guy lied to me, just to get seven...
