I used to prefer Giant because it was easier for me to find gluten-free items and I found the self-checkout process to be easier. But the pandemic changed everything.
A few weeks ago, while shopping during the hours set aside for those more at risk I encountered two employees not wearing their masks properly. I said something to customer service who did investigate but said that they were āoutside vendorsā as if that explained everything. I made another complaint stating that it didnāt matter, itās the law and itās their store so they set the rules. Two managers followed up with me and swore they were taking mask wearing seriously. They even claimed they put an employee on leave for not following mask safety rules.
Exactly two weeks later I walk in to find at least 2 employees not wearing masks properly. And two more inside the store who were not wearing ANY masks at all! One did put on his mask once he saw me. The manager and another employee were standing directly in front of the entrance and neither were wearing a mask. Again, Iām shopping during hours specifically set aside for those at higher risk.
When I complained a second time, they didnāt really seem that concerned.
I donāt recommend shopping here if you value your health. They donāt seem to care about their customers or...

Me and my fiance came in to grab some quick dinner from the wing bar and we were not only profiled and followed our entire 10 minutes in this store but laughed at and belittled by the security guard. We went to self checkout and were followed, we ended up going to a register (which happened to be pretty far down the check out lanes) and were still followed. As we were checking out he stood at the end of the lane as if we were going to steal wings and a soda. This was so frustrating even other employees voiced frustration over this grown man only following BLACK MEN AND WOMEN in the store/bathroom. We were not the only customers at the wing bar but we were the only people of color there and we were the ones followed. The security guard had slick remarks when called out about his actions. The manager almost seemed nonchalant about the entire situation, he knew exactly which security guard i was referring to BECAUSE THIS HAPPENS OFTEN. Completely unprofessional. This is straight up harassment. Making your customers uncomfortable to even shop in your store is not good for business. Iāll go to Acme from now on because iām sure nothing will be done about this...

But recently they hired a person , Joan, i found out from the customer service at the store, she is at self checkout section or at the registers, is very rude and unfriendly, not professional and discriminatory. My register was frozen and i realized all the registers were in the same way a few days ago. I politely asked for her help. Her answer was that āall registers are in the same condition and i have to be patient āin a rude way as if she was beating me with her manner and angry look. Then she helped the others first although i asked for help immediately. I thought i was discriminated against and degraded by her. I hope i wonāt experience this again. Because i am not going to be abused by an associate for nothing, hence it was her job to help whoever is in need to.This 2 stars is for her not for the whole store. I hope the manager reads this review and talk to her at once. Also they wanted me to call back the number they provided and they did not even bother to give me a call.
