Hunan Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Delaware

Sad to say that we gave Hunan another try tonight. Delivery order. Food arrived on schedule. Steamed vegetable dumplings were horrible. Flavorless, potato dough chewy consistency which was very thick. The veggie filling was lean and overwhelmed by the dumpling which tasted like it was cooked in a wet sock. The Chicken Chow Mien's chicken involved thin meager sliced meat. BTW, we noticed the new online menu was redesigned with a brighter layout which begged the question if Hunan was under new management. We also noticed the to increased prices. I realize some may take exception to bad reviews, but this one is honest and not meant to be mean-spirited. Rather, it is one that hopefully reaches the ears of the owners on Hunan to improve their menu, and alert possible customers looking for a decent Chinese restaurant. This is definitely our last order from Hunan. Perhaps readers of this review will have better luck.

We order frequently from this place. It is usually fair to good. Tonight, the Cold sesame noodles were warm and mushy. We called and mentioned we were disappointed. The attitude of the woman we spoke to left us the only choice to take a hiatus form Hunan for the time being. The woman insisted that COLD sesame noodles are served warm....HUH? The hot and sour soup was terribly bland. The spare ribs were tough and grimy...the dinner promptly made it into...

First I walked in and placed my order all I ordered was sesame chicken combo fried hard with extra sauce, no pork in the fried rice and it came with a egg. I also ordered fried wontons. I stand there for a few min and say okay I'll be right back I come back with in 10 min and the lady goes to hand me my bag and say okay your ready general tso chicken combo with no pork in rice....no no no that's not what I ordered I tell her and she proceeds to ask me if I really want to change it. Yes I dont eat spicy food I tell her so she said okay I'll change it. She asks again sesame chicken I said yes fried hard with extra sauce. So she tells them in the back what i want and after standing there for a whole half a hour i finally get my food. I got home and went to go eat it and the chicken was soggy wasn't fried hard at all and it had no sauce on it at all just a couple sprinkles of sesame seeds. This isn't the first time the lady in that Chinese store did what she wanted instead of what the customer ordered I should of had just stuck to my gut and just went to the Chinese store by Cape.. they dont ever mess your order up.. I definitely won't go...

Our experience: Ordered delivery, after an hour heard nothing, so called them to ask where our food was. She basically said she didn’t know. Called her two more times and asked her to call the driver. An hour and a half after ordering and multiple calls, the driver calls to say he’s on his way and that they lost the order. He was super apologetic which was nice. An hour and forty five minutes!!! after ordering the food shows up. I will say the dumplings were amazing and so were the spring rolls, and the general tsos chicken was good. The crab rangoons were absolutely awful and a total let down, worst crab rangoons I’ve ever had. I feel like the food taking almost 2 hours they should have comped some of our order so we didn’t have to pay full price but they didn’t offer that and were very short and unapologetic with us on the phone. Feel like after it being that late they should’ve tried to make it better some how... Just wasn’t a great...
