St Charles Place Antiques — Local services in Renton

Came here because of all the wonderful reviews. Just like everyone said, it's got a great selection of REAL antiques - not the questionable, hand-me-down items lying around in your aunt or uncle's house. We are talking chairs, dining sets, and wardrobes from the 1800s.. and other cool findings. The mysterious rooms also added to the charm of this whole place. I believe we met the shop owner - he was a charm too!

We were interested in the large postcard selection when he found us and so kindly gave us a verbal tour of his shop so we wouldn't miss a thing and the sale he was having. He checked on us again when we were in a different room, which was very nice.

We didn't end up buying anything this time only because we were looking very specifically for vintage model cars, planes, and any old aircraft postcards or art prints. (We found some postcards but my husband wasn't fond of the creased corners. 🙄) But we really enjoyed...

FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE & WAS THRILLED 2 FIND CHARLES WITH HIS FUN SENSE OF HUMOR, QUICK WIT & HIS & HIS STAFFS EXPERTISE IN BEING ABLE 2 REPAIR MY BEAUTIFUL AMISH SOLID WOOD GLIDER ROCKER THAT BROKE A COUPLE WEEKS AGO & HAD SUCH A HARD TIME FINDING ANYONE THAT WOULD BEABLE 2 DO THE JOB ....UNTIL I KEPT TRYING & CALLED ST CHARLES PLACE 👍 I PICKED HER UP 2 WEEKS 2 THE DAY CHARLES SAID SHE WOULD B DONE & GREAT & VERY FAIR PRICE CONSIDERING WHAT THIS VERY SPECIAL CHAIR MEANS 2 ME & EVERYONE WHO FIGHTS 2 SIT IN IT 😆 🤣 BOUGHT IT FROM A DEAR FRIEND B4 HE MOVED BACK 2 WISCONSIN & HAVE AN ENTIRE AMISH DINING SET HE SOLD ME 2 😃 THEIR STORE HAS SOME OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL 😍 ANTIQUES I HAVE EVER SEEN & THRILLED 2 HAVE FOUND THEM ...DEFINITELY WILL B SPREADING THE GOOD WORD & GOING BACK 2 REALLY GET A GOOD LOOK AROUND 👌 THANK U SO MUCH CHARLES & STAFF ❤ APPRECIATE YOUR HARD WORK...

The building itself is falling apart and going to the top level does not feel safe (the roof is falling apart and water damage everywhere up there), but that said the store is massive with a great selection of all kinds of antiques. They have a main level, two basement areas, and an upstairs level, quite a large inventory. We purchased 6 chairs and paid the owner to re-up holster them. He did a fantastic job and the total price, even with the reupholstering, felt like a great bargain. We plan to be back periodically to see what new stuff they have for sure. The only reason I wouldn't give 5 stars is the state of the building, but I don't really fault the owners for that, it's a massive building and I wouldn't want to be the one responsible for seeing...
