Fourth time coming here. Only time I have felt the need to say something. Just a heads up, if it’s busy, you will be ignored. They MIGHT greet you when you enter to patiently wait, but it’s not guaranteed. Unfortunately after talking this restaurant up to my date for weeks! We had an awful experience. We are both in the sevice industry so we understand being short staffed, kitchen errors, ect. It was 10 minutes after being seated that we were asked about drinks. I ordered one glass of wine. Had to ask 3 more times before the glass was dropped 20 minutes later… after our food had already arrived. I ordered my usuals hoping the dishes would redeem the slow service ( we know dinner is a busy time, but previous times when I have made a reservation I have still had to wait 10+ minutes, once they claimed they called me to tell me my table was ready, I showed the waitress proof that they never called then we were seated 5 minutes later *40 minute wait total) but it didn’t. The crispy garlic chicken that is usually golden and crunchy was dark and hard, tasted stale. (Perhaps needed an oil change). Definitely was a downer on what was supposed to be a nice date night. The staff became ruder and ruder when I would ask for simple necessities like a drink I ordered. I would recommend communicating with customers if wait times are going to be longer than usual. Goes a long way. Unfortunately the food went down in quality this visit as well. Which saddens me, was always happy to spend my money here.

Edited to update: still the same. Being short staffed doesn’t justify a 20 minute wait for a glass of wine. I also notice that every review that mentions lack of service, the response from management is always “we are short staffed”. As someone who has worked in packed short staffed restaurants, a glass of wine should never take 20 minutes. Maybe take time to explain the shortage and wait beforehand to curb customer expectations. As is part of...

Rude and disrespectful staff/ employee

I really wish I could give off a better review on this restaurant. I live close by and tried it twice and here is my consideration. Hair was found in my desert

And apart from the two times I've been there: I got honked and scared at 11PM by an employee/ worker of the place for mistakenly throwing my garbage bag at their dumpster as there was a homeless inside my apts dumpster. It was a female who rudely raised her voice to me and my husband saying we absolutely can not throw trash there (which I understand, restaurants pay for their dumpster too) and I immediately took the trash out and put it somewhere else. She stayed there even after I took the bags out and kept speaking disrespectfully to my husband saying that a lot of people do that from our apartment (we have NEVER done that before.) When we told her that was a homeless guy inside our dumpster and we didn't mean to go against their wishes she lifted her shoulders and said it was not her problem. She acted like we were committing a crime; we're honest and good people and this behavior towards people is not acceptable in any way. I am NEVER going back to such a disrespectful place that honks and scares random people and potentially costumers at 11Pm at night for mistakenly throwing 2 home garbage bags in their dumpster. You could have just stopped and asked with manners and we would completely take the bags out. WHY act like we're criminals and honk for seconds scaring us off????? if you work with people, BE HUMAN about things and don't overlook others for misunderstandings

rudeness will not bring success to this place, very disappointed because it had potential....

If I could give it a negative rating, I probably would. On Friday, December 28, 2018, a friend and I went there for dinner. We had a table by the window and there was only one other table occupied when we were there, we ordered an appetizer and main course. It was a little chilly in there so I kept my coat on. While we were waiting for the appetizer, I heard something that sounded different, it sounded like it was raining really hard outside so I kind of turned to see what was going on outside, as I turned I see 6-8 inch flames coming off my coat. My coat was on fire along with my hair! The owner/manager/person in charge came out and asked what was burning! She sees I am trying to put the flames out of my coat, my hair smelled burnt and was singed about 1-2 inches across and 3-4 inches in length. She walked away and later came back with the main dish; when I asked her where the appetizer was she said she gave it to the wrong table! Really?? There was only one other table occupied!! Finally we get all our food, in the wrong order, and it was ok, but the experience was not good and the fact that nothing got comped for us, no offer for a haircut or fix/buy me a jacket for the one that was completely ruined, was unacceptable!! Customer service sucked! The lack of concern for my jacket burning, not to mention my hair is disgraceful. The candles weren’t enclosed along the windows, which is what caused my hair and jacket to catch fire. Which they did blow out; but they didn’t come out food or give us a gift certificate to come back at a later date. They must not care about...

From the moment I walked through the doors at Ocha Thai in Renton, I knew I was in for a treat. The staff greeted me with warm smiles and genuine enthusiasm, making me feel welcome right away. The décor strikes a great balance—elegant without being stuffy, cozy without being cramped. Now, to the food: absolutely outstanding. Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The Crispy Garlic Chicken was unforgettable — savory, aromatic, and perfectly cooked. The Pad Thai sparkled with balance (sweet, salty, tangy) and had the ideal texture. Their curries—Panang, Yellow, Green—were richly layered, fragrant, and made with such care. We also tried their Pineapple Fried Rice, which had the perfect mix of sweet fruit, savory rice, and tender protein. For dessert, the Mango Sticky Rice closed out the meal in blissful harmony. One thing that stood out: consistency. This wasn’t just a one-off good meal — the flavors were confident and polished in every bite. And service was impeccable: attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about menu items (they helped guide spice levels), and always checking to ensure everything was perfect. If you’re in or around Renton (or willing to make the trip), Ocha Thai should absolutely be on your list. It’s one of those restaurants that makes you want to come back just to try one more thing. Five stars, no hesitation.
