We just went and saw Dracula, which was great, the actors did a fantastic job telling the story! However, the venue needs some work, it was super cold to the point of being uncomfortable, no one could take off their coats. The venue was dirty and this was the first show of the day, there was trash (bottles, wrappers & napkins, down the aisles that no one had been down yet, the bathroom toilet seat was soiled. And the show started about 15 minutes late and when you are someone who arrives early for a show that makes a difference. This was the case last time I saw a show there also. I feel there should be an effort made to start on time and to let attendees know they should show up on time so others don't have to wait on them. If this was communicated to be the norm, then it wouldn't perpetuate the late starts. Thank you for listening and I do hope some changes...
Read moreAs you walk up, it looks closed. I almost turned around. I ended up walking directly up to the doors and saw that it was slightly opened. It's not a fancy theater, but it was in good repair. There was even a program, which I did not expect from a community theater. There is some, but not a lot, of nearby parking. Furthermore, if you have mobility issues, I suggest bringing a wheelchair or mobility scooter. I was very happy to see no stairs in the theater area. However, I believe the bathrooms are up a set of stairs and don't know if they have any disabled bathrooms on the main floor or an elevator to get to the bathrooms. Overall, my...
Read moreAfter seeing a show last season we decided to buy season tickets this year. It's hard to describe this theater and their productions without everything sounding like back handed compliments. The whole place is a bit shabby, the costumes and sets don't stand up to close scrutiny and the acting can sometimes be inconsistent. And yet all of that only adds to the charm. The building is a classic, the costuming and sets never get in the way of the story and there are always stellar performances from both leads and supporting players. (And even the occasional not so stellar actor is always clearly having a great time.) The fact is, I've seen some very big productions of some very big plays on some very big stages, but this theater I will keep...
