I have made attempts out of good faith to reach out to the owner Mr. Santiago. Since August 26th. No reply yet. Left message with is staff 9/6/2023 at 4:38PM (7 min 23 sec) Wanting to also, let him know that his son also, snatched our receipt of the table. After he did what he did to my group.
On Friday evening August 25th 2023. I came it with two women to eat. Host was great. Serives was great. Until everything gone complete wrong. The ladies asked for to go containers. And asked if they can also, have to go cups with water. The server made a comment the triggered the women. He told them. Don't think about taken drinks out of here. That was nothing on there minds. They were finish their drinks up there. They are not the kind of people that do that. So the male server was addressed about the comment by one of the ladies. Then it got a little nasty by both. The server left to get the waters. He came back and the water of the lady that addressed him had a ripped cap lid and an black ant in the cup of water. They addressed that and the you man tried to snatch the cup out the young ladies mothers hand that asked to speak with manager. The air got filled with talks of discrimination and internally putting that ant in the water. The young man fail to get management as he refused to address there was no manager. So the ladies asked the male bartender, if he was manager. He said no. But they both refused to say that the young man was the owners son, who was serving us. And refused to say why there was no manager available. Only saying the manager left already. So to keep the peace I stepped in to conversate with the young man, only to find out he was the owners son. And that is why her refused to get anyone in charge, because he was in charge and wanted to hide what took place. He attempted to snatch the cup from the ladies hand about 4 times to dispose of the ant. However he could have just been honest. Do I believe the ant was put in the water intentionally. I have no clue, but the problem became heated based on the disrespect the women felt. Everything was handed completely wron by the young man as well as the adults women, but the action toward the women gave them the impression of discrimination. And if I were not level headed. I would have clearly thought the same. I just believe the young man. Made a big mistake and the 3 butted heads after that. Especially paying $120. to recover a low commit, then a water with a ripped lid, and ant in the water of one of the ladies I dinned with. The one that confronted him on the comment he made. All gone south badly. We do have the picture of the ant in the cup of hers. I ordered the fettuccine Pesto with 4 shrimp, that is not on list, one lady order pizza, other the lady with ant in water ordered the spaghetti with meatballs, and the style of fries they had there, two ice teas, 1 pop, and two alcohol beverages one each for the ladies. I only drank water myself.
I can only conclude. That yes the women at my table were treated wrongl and lied to when demanding a superior person to talk to. Bad for business. The young man addressed he was Mexican and would not discriminate based on race. But what happened was wrong. And I was not getting into the race debate between them. I just addressed what was wrong and what should have been done to avoid these issues. It was all unprofessional. That simple. No matter working 10 hours or not. Not an excuses
Price varied between us 3. The women bought...
Read moreLet me start by saying this was my first experience at this restaurant and I understand with covid times the service industry is hard. However we called a week in advance for a 15 person table for a birthday celebration they reassured us that they could handle this. The first of us arrived at 4:45pm by 5 all of our party except the birthday girl had arrived. The waiter was impatient and didn't want to take drink orders. He then told us when couldn't split checks which was fine but we said that should have been disclosed on the call. We waited 15-20 for the first set of drinks to arrive and again for the next. The waiter took food orders and the food took well over a hour to arrive. After that hour only half of our table had their food. Another 45 minutes passed and we finally spoke up to the waiter who seemed not to be happy with us to begin with and he said that the reason the food took forever and was split was because we had split checks? We then said uhm?! You told us we couldn't do that. He contributed to argue so we asked for the manager. The manager listened and acted like he was genuinely concerned about our experience. The food wasn't great it was hot but it wasn't great we ordered two waygu on arrived on a hot stone the other on a plate. We ordered a total of 4 steaks they arrived still mooing. We sent one back and at this time we were starving. At the end the manager brought us a bottle of champagne which was extremely appreciated. However the checks came the waiter managed to split it up between 3 checks also confusing as we were told we couldn't do this. The total was $1,300 with tip on 3 checks again totally fine it was a 15 person table. We paid our check and went to leave when the waiter grabbed my arm and told us we couldn't leave because we didn't pay the tab. He brings us the recipe for the same exact cost we just paid on the biggest tab. I let him know that we already paid this and he began to argue. I asked for the manager again and when he came over I explained this was extremely unprofessional and for my very first visit I was very disappointed in the service and the food. The manager went to the back and came back and said well you paid you tab! Yes, of course we did. The cook behind the counter was visibly upset and threw a towel to the ground.? In all reality for $1,300 and the way I was treated I will literally never come here again. The only positive experience was the bar tender who was a very nice guy. Our family has been servers as long as I can remember and we totally get having a large table can be hard but that doesn't excuse being treated like garbage. I won't be coming back. We ended our...
Read moreDavid, the absolute legend behind the bar at Marianna Restaurant. Let me tell you, this guy isn’t just a bartender—he’s a vibe curator, a smile generator, and probably the reason the lights at the bar seem a little brighter. I walked in feeling like a Monday, and by the time I left, I was practically skipping out like it was Friday night. That’s David magic, folks. First off, his people skills? Off the charts. He’s the kind of guy who remembers your name after one drink and somehow knows exactly what to say to make you laugh, even if you’re having the worst day. I swear, he could charm a grumpy cat into purring. And the way he mixes drinks? It’s like watching a wizard at work—shaking, stirring, and pouring with the precision of a surgeon, but the swagger of a rockstar. My cocktail tasted like a hug in a glass, and I’m pretty sure he invented happiness while making it. But here’s the real kicker: David doesn’t just serve drinks; he serves energy. The bar was buzzing, and not just because of the drinks. He’s like a human dimmer switch, turning up the fun and dialing down the awkward. I saw him crack a joke with some regulars, hype up a shy couple on their first date, and somehow get a group of strangers to clink glasses like they’d known each other forever. The man’s a conductor, and the bar is his orchestra—everyone’s smiling, laughing, and vibing like they’re at the best party of the year. Cheers to David, the maestro of Marianna’s bar. I’m pretty sure he’s the reason half the people come back, and honestly, he deserves a raise—or at least a parade. If you’re reading this, David, keep slinging drinks and spreading joy. You’re the MVP, and I’m already planning my next visit. Pleasure to meet ya my friend! (Marianna’s, if you’re listening, pay this man what he’s worth—he’s carrying the whole vibe on...
