THE GOOD AND THE BAD - Résumé if you don't want to read the whole review: I would not recommend to stay there. I definitely will not come back here.
STAFF everyone was polite (except that cleaning woman Monday morning). One person stood out and got out of his way to make sure I was comfortable. Angel, a maintenance person, gave me his stool to sit on in my room to be able to work comfortably at the table. The chairs at the tables are so low I felt like a little kid at a table. Apparently, the new tables in the rooms are now too high for the chairs. Angel lend me his stool for the weekend. BIG THANK YOU ANGEL! The staff at the reception had no intention to find a solution. Angel just happened to be right there at the reception with the others to watch the video recording of the break in that had happened during the night. Hence my 2 stars!
NOISE: from DOORS: OMG, at first I thought some people were really rude with their doors. I kept hearing doors slamming shut and it was quite disturbing. I mean, the room almost shook from the shocks. I think now it is the doors. I was very careful to catch mine before it slammed shut, but I guess people were not that thoughtful of others. Each morning I got woken up as early as 7 am by slamming doors from various rooms. (I guess people were impatient to get their free breakfast fast). Noise from OTHER GUESTS: my next door guest had their TV so loud I could tell which channel they were watching. And I could hear them talking (shouting??). The walls are that thin. I phoned reception at 9h10 pm to inquire about the noise policy in this hotel. I had stayed at other BW where it was very clear at check-in that noise would not be tolerated after 9pm. The woman at the desk had no idea if there was such policy. She did say however that she would check. I had to phone again 45 minutes later as the noise got louder and louder. She apologized as she was swamped but said she would come up right away to check it out. I heard her knock for a few minutes before the guest could hear her. She told them to be quiet and heard them apologize to her and they were quiet after that. The next evening, new guests came in below my room. I could hear their blow dryer, the bathroom fan turned on and off, and their bathroom door shut. I don't know how many people were in there, but the noise from them was constant for at least 2 hours late into the evening. I finally fell asleep but was woken up several times by doors being slammed on my floor and from them. The building must be very old and definitely not sound proof. Luckily, my room facing the courtyard so I barely heard the traffic from the HWYs. Other guests complained about the traffic noise from the HWY.
ELEVATOR: I had read many reviews about the elevator not working. It was working very well during my stay. But the floor was sticky and dirty from inconsiderate guesses spilling stuff.
BREAKFAST was good. I don't normally eat breakfast but what I ate was what is expected in a BW hotel. The choice is minimal but it is not something I care about. There were plenty for everyone and plenty of coffee. The cafeteria was kept clean (despite the self entitled rude guests which is another topic...
Read moreMy last review got erased before I posted so the highlights are this, we adore this town and have recently moved away leaving our appointments here in the city so as to return as few as 2 times a month and as many as four times a month. Needless to say a consistent home away from home which we know just what to expect as far as comfirt cleaniness and staff and staying in at least three other best westerns you can always expect the consistency Cleanliness and kind staff at all of their locaations no matter how good or bad the city your in may be BW us always very consistent with a standard I've come to know and love when I. Doubt I promise you will find your best bet and value with a vest western. The rooms are crisp polished and newly renovated here at Renton, and the staff is so knowledgeable and lovely. I checked in with TANAH I explained our situation and that we were looking for an affordable yet clean and cozy place to lay out head a few times a month when. We come to the city, she not only knew to ask questio s about preference that I never would have thought of, but she positioned our room facing our beloved skate park in our beloved city of Renton over looking planes landing in the far enough distance so as to not make a sound, the warm him of the freeway far enough off into the distance to be a pleasant white noise. I explained to her my fear and reluctance of using a third party like booking to get the deal to which she had a wonderful solution happy to accommodate a price match so I didn't have to put my card online. She gladly sent up extra pillows and a blanket that has the fresh scent of a lavender like detergent that aromas all around inside the hotel, also the blanket must have been warned or fresh from the laundry because it not only smelled amazing but was warm to the touch my husband was very sore he snuggled into that comforter and fell fast asleep. Whilst I took an extremely luxurious steam shower in the walk in large shower. I mostly don't judge for anything less than a jacuzzi tub but I will say that's the most amazing shower All this for a price that can't be beat even at the motels this price compares to the cheapest motel with a standard of a downtown suites staff cleanliness and safety and comfort. Oh also there's a shari's next door for late night and early munchies. And they have a very well stocked of ice creams chips sodas medications even a dog bowl leash collar nail clippers u mean they have thought if everything you haven't. And didn't mention the staff!!! Thank you specially to Angela the manager I see now why the standard if quality kindness and efficiency is what it is Angela is all of these things very sweet and charming and warm all of which ice come t ok expect from our wonderful best westerns nationwide! We will see you all next week and just can't wait! All our respect and...
Read moreThe company I work for reserved 6 rooms at this hotel which cost them well over $2,000, when a coworker and I arrived the young man working tried to say that my reservation was for the following night and was refusing to check us in even though I showed him the confirmation for the reservation so I ended up calling my boss she then called the hotel, once it was figured out 45 minutes to an hour later we were able to check in and get a couple hours of sleep before we had to get up and go to work when we got back we went to our rooms and I took a shower when I was getting out I heard a knock at my door and was about to answer my door when a staff member decided to let herself in my room and when she seen me standing there in my towel she walked out and went to the front desk then called my room and proceeded to ask me if I was extending my room or checking out I told her it was already paid for 5 days and she got really ignorant with me and told me we will see about that and I didn't hear from her after...the next morning my coworker woke up to ANTS and informed the front desk who told him they would take care of it (they didn't) and we went to work when we got back we went to our rooms and when I got to mine I noticed that my door was open when I entered my room I noticed that housekeeping had been in my room but didn't do anything but take the trash out and gave me clean towels but didn't change the bedding or wipe anything off or even vacuum but they made sure to go through my belongings because nothing was the way I left it so the next morning when I was leaving for work I told the young man at the desk that I didn't want housekeeping in my room because they left it open and had went through my stuff he said OK and I left for work on our way my coworker told me that he woke up to ANTS again but his time they were in his bed crawling on him when we got back my coworker informed the manager and his exact words were do you have food in your room?? My coworker said NO so the manager called maintenance and had them meet him at his room and I went to mine and once again HOUSEKEEPING HAD BEEN IN MY ROOM AND ONCE AGAIN DID NOTHING AT ALL so obviously they didn't care that before I left for work I said I DO NOT WANT HOUSEKEEPING IN MY ROOM. I was absolutely angry at the complete lack of respect and the complete disregard of a guest's privacy by management and staff not to mention 3 of my co-workers had to stay at another hotel because this hotel had already rented the rooms reserved for them. If you're traveling to...
