the worst hospital ever! last year i had gotten into a car accident with my brother in law but we were fine and were able to go back to work the next day (we worked together). at work i got the worsest pain in my back, i couldnt walk, bend, or sit. im not the the type of person who can cry easy but that HORRIBLE pain in my back was making me almost cry. my co workers and brother in law had to carry me to the car and drove me to valley medical. when we got there i waited in line and they attended me and asked from 1-10, 10 being so painful, how was my level of pain, i said 10 and they just looked at me like if they were expecting me to be crying or something like if they didnt believe i was in terrible pain. they took me in the room and they were expecting me to remove my clothes and put a gown on by myself when i was in pain, I COULD BARELY MOVE! until a nurse noticed i needed help. they took me to get xrays and were telling me to stand up, sit down, move over here, over there. (like im in pain! i cant move!) thats when i realized they were not trying to understand me or being any help. they take me back to the room and they came back in with the results but i didnt understand anything, they didnt explain how it happens or why. they talked like if they expected me to know what it was that i had. they said dont got back to work for a week. after, they said some technicians will come in to fix something and i thought they will do it while i was in the room. they come back and they say "oh you havent gotten dressed yet?" i asked if they were transfering me to another room and they said no, that i have to get out. i still couldnt walk and they expect me to just walk out until i said i need help and they put me in a wheel chair and a nurse took me out to the waiting room and just left me there. they are just trying to get people in and out without caring if they are better or not. (nobody was there to pick me up yet since my co-workers had to leave after they dropped me off) the medicine they had given me started kicking in and i started to get dizzy and pale yet the nurses didnt even notice only the patients in the waiting room. luckily my father came in time and got me out of there before i fainted or something. not only i had a terrible expirience there but my wife also. she went in several months ago since she was at her parents house and she got a high fever they took her in and they were able to reduce her fever but she came out with the worsest headache ever. she had it for several days and she would be crying in pain. they had poked a needle to remove fluid from her spine and they said she needs to lay down for a while so she wont have a bad headache yet not even a couple mins later a nurse comes in and sits her up and tells us we can go home now (i had arrived at the hospital by then). as soon and she steps foot out of the room the headaches began. the worst thing was that they couldnt even diagnosed her right. she had to figure it out herself that she got mastitis and caused her to get a high fever so they did all these things and still didnt even know what was wrong until she figured it out. these expirience happend a while ago but they HAPPEND! now what promted me to write a review is because my wife's uncle had an accident a month ago, to make it short, he had pain and went to this hospital and they had put pressure in his chest where he has bullet holes healing!!! who does that!??? his chest swelled up and he went to another hospital where they did a thorough check up on him and attended him better. i cant believe this hospital is up and running after so many people having bad expiriences, like dont they care about the patients?? sorry for the long review but this happend to us and i certainly wouldnt want it to keep...
Read moreCame in with the aftermath of a job site concussion.
From the ER, was sent straight to Neurology (no one advised me, an L&I injury, goes first to Occupational Health, then to wherever is needed)
So I'm about 2 months into first (hopefully last) L&I claim, but have only received one time loss payment.
Seemed odd, some phone calls reveal that my Dr., isn't filling out the form that shows my progress to case manager.
I ask about this during my next appt. And he says "he doesn't do the paperwork"...
It's literally one side, of one page. As a non medical professional, I was able to figure this thing out in a few minutes.
I described the urgency of my situation, that without that form, I literally cannot buy groceries, let alone, make my car payment, auto insurance, phone bill, rent, etc...
Simply trying to get someone, ANYONE, to fill out this damn form. No one would do it.
I left a voicemail on their complaint line, and received a call from the director of neurology.
She told me she would look into it personally, and make sure the form was sent in.
She did call my case manager and apparently a few other people, but the primary concern seemed to be shrugging this responsibility off onto someone else.
So the form was still not sent in.
Another week goes by, my case manager advises me if I just get him to write a short message assessing my situation, that will be good enough.
It was literally like pulling teeth to get him to do that.
I sent that in. A different person intercepted the fax and said it wasn't enough info.
I contacted neurology again, and the director told me that THEY had sent in the form, and I was all set. (The form I sent in, that he partially completed, under duress)
At this point I've received notice from the lender on my auto loan, to produce insurance or be fined $4000 and receive their "forced" insurance.
Now I'm furious. It's been almost 3 months since I've received a check, I'm literally starving, and other problems are mounting.
Phone call after phone call, and these people simply would not do the simple task of filling out a one page form.
Finally I get the supervisors supervisor at L&I, and explain what's been happening with the people in neurology, that no one will fill out the form, that I'm starving etc.
He was kind enough to hear my plight and sign off on issuing payment with the documents I had provided.
Had to pawn some of my tools just to eat and keep the phone on in the meantime.
None of this needed to happen.
One form, one side of one page. Wouldn't do it. Did not care in the least the harm it was causing to my life. The director spoke to me as if it was an inconvenience for HER.
my credit score has gone from excellent, to poor, and basically an entire years worth of car payments have been added to my debt, because of the disregard these people have for the public.
Hopefully someone finds my experience helpful.
it was a very frustrating and costly lesson to learn, that valley medical, is not the least bit concerned about the well being of its patients.
Response to valley medical
That's all well and good....
But, What exactly will that do, to alleviate the tremendous financial burden I'm left with, as a direct result of the actions, or inactions, of your...
Read moreWarning, do not go to this hospital. There was a biohazard accident while being dropped off at the Seattle Airport. It took them over 2 hrs of my crying and begging them to call an ambulance. I had to call 911 myself, while a lady in a red coat appeared stating it was not her fault. It took a fellow traveller to stand up and firmly say she has been asking for help for 2 hrs.
The ambulance driver took me far away to this Valley Medical Hospital instead of the hospital next door to the airport. They must have been related to someone there (on the take). The hospital told me nothing but took me off the gurney and placed me in the chair in the lobby. Clearly they did not understand the severity of a biohazard.
I was in excruciating pain. My doctor in my hometown on the phone, explained that the hospital would need to flush the hazard out of my bladder immediately. Finally, after 5 hrs. The on call physician said, 'we don't do that'. If you want me to find someone it will be at least 2-3 more hours.
We would miss our flight.
She did not examine me at all. Instead the doctor said oddly, " Don't you wear underwear?" Incompetent is too nice a word for this person, so called ER doctor. I begged the nurse for something to at least wipe the hazard off my body, myself. I told the doctor the pain medicine that I could not take so she ordered Roxicodone which I am allergic to. This was the generic that I told them I would have an allergic reaction to. The incompetence and lazy behavior of the staff is unconscionable. My husband firmly asked the admin to take me back to the doctor, while I was sitting in the chair bent over in pain over 5 hrs., crying at least 3 times. The admin, started yelling loudly at him, " She will have to wait her turn like everyone else." He saw that they were behind a 2 way mirror so they could see how sick I was. They casually called at least 30 people that were in the regular waiting room that they put me in with appearing nonemergency. The admin clearly enjoy inflicting pain and enjoy humiliating people. They like screaming loudly at loved ones begging for help. This hospital should be shut down.
The driver that took us back to the airport confirmed that he had a family member have the same experience. That hospital has a reputation. It give Seattle a bad name. This kind of behavior does not just appear. They were all the same, cruel, hateful, sadistic, and worst of all totally incompetent from the admin to the doctors. Shame on the person in upper management that has attracted this sort of people. The one thing that they were sure to do was take my payment information. The doctor said she ordered an antibiotic shot that...
