Beware The manager at the store was yelling at me and my girlfriend in front of the other customers because we asked them to help us understand the receipts. We had done an exchange and just was wondering how it was calculating the tax. Neither my GF nor I are very good at math. So when we were adding the shoes to our expense diary we thought we might have been miss-charged. We weren’t, the bill was 100 percent correct. But when we inquired about it in the store, the lady we talked to was very cold and rude. While she was explaining it to us, the manager overheard and started to get very angry. He was yelling at us about how good his cash register was, that it cost 6,000.00 dollars, and that it was much better than our cell phone, which we had used to calculate the bill. It was awful so I got my girlfriend out as fast as I could. We were never rude to any of them or anything. We just went in and asked them to please explain why we saw 2 tax entries. It was a very simple problem that we just didn’t understand. It should have taken them very little time and energy to explain it to us, but instead they made a horrible scene that left my poor GF crying on the way back home. I am so surprised by this. I had just been telling the clerk that I was so impressed with how helpful and understanding they were being about my return. I told her that they had made a customer for life, and I meant it. It is so hard for me to find good shoes. This went from a 5 star encounter, to me leaving this very regrettable review. A store where you are not allowed to question the bill is nowhere I will ever enter again. This occurred on 1/27/2018 about 4:00 pm at the Renton store. I waited 3 weeks to post this so I could be sure there was no emotional reactiveness driving...
Read moreIt can be a difficult journey finding shoes that work for you when you have wide feet or maybe need spacious shoes after foot surgery - in my case I had hammertoe surgery ~ 5 months ago and have wider feet due to annoying bunions. Over the years I wore shoes that weren’t wide enough for my feet and I didn’t even know it. Now my feet are paying for it!
I thought I was out of luck when it came to trying on wide shoes or even dress shoes especially after foot surgery. Stores would rarely carry wides and I would leave disappointed. The struggle of online shopping for wides vs extra wides and having to return them was getting old. That was until I learned about Wide Shoes Only through my physical therapist. There are two locations, one in Edmonds and one in Renton, WA.
I paid a visit to the Renton location and was met with smiles and great customer service. The staff there - Lisa, Katie and Melissa are nice, personable and knowledgeable. They want the shoes to work for you and don’t make you feel pressured into purchasing anything. They measured my feet and ran through multiple shoe options with me. I spent some time trying out shoes and never felt rushed to make a decision.
They have a good selection of options and a sales section as well. If they don’t carry your size they will order it for you with the option of having it shipped to your home.
I really appreciate the great customer service and plan on returning. Check them out, you...
Read moreI had an incredible experience with Wide Shoes Only, and I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of shoes for a loved one with a disability. The gentleman I spoke with went above and beyond to help me find the right shoes for my mother, who wears an IDEO brace.
Despite being located across the country from me, he took the time to explain shoe dynamics, measurement methods, and possible options for her. He was honest and straightforward about the limited selection of possibilities, which I appreciated.
What really touched me was when I thanked him for his help, and he said "I do it because I know it's for your mom." This statement showed me that he values kindness, family, and doing the right thing. He didn't have to help me, but he did anyway, out of the kindness of his heart. Thanks to his help, after 15 years of suffering, we finally found her a pair of shoes that works with her disability.
Although I couldn't purchase the shoes directly from him due to being in Texas, I still wanted to share how much I appreciate his customer service. Thank you so much for your help and for showing me that there are still people out there who truly care about others. God bless you, sir. (I wish I had asked...
