I'm doing this review for Diane cheer. (here is her Experience) First of all, it is not acceptable that when you call on the phone trying to reach a specific store, that you get connected to what is probably someone in India. They hem and haw and waste your time, trying to get your email, etc. and claiming they will reserve what you want at the store for you. We found out that none of this is necessary. If you want to actually talk to a person at the store location you are going to, find out their extension number ahead of time. A word to BEST BUY CORPORATE BRASS - ditch the foreign answering service and put out money for a real phone answerer at each store, along with providing them with a few extra employees in the store. Also, many people still collect movie DVD's. Why did you get rid of them? Now, for my real issue - a few weeks ago, I went to purchase a Nokia flip phone at the Quakertown, PA Best Buy. The man who helped us in the store was very knowledgeable and helpful. Days later, we realized that the section to put the Sim card in, did not lock properly. We took it back to the store, within the accepted time frame, with the receipt. The man who sold us the phone was not there. They seemed to be clearly short-staffed with more than one thing at a time going on. There seemed to be only one employee that knew how to help us with the Sim card lock issue. He fiddled with it for a bit and finally said that he thought it would be okay because the battery would hold the Sim card in place! Huh? Clearly, the lock was NOT working properly. I asked if we could see another phone to see if the problem was the same and he said that then we would have to pay a $45.00 restocking fee. Huh? I have a faulty phone and I have to pay a restocking fee to see if another phone has the same fault? If you don't open the phone, how do you see if it is working properly? For some reason, my daughter and I lamely accepted what this employee said and walked out the door with our faulty phone. We then both agreed that it was not cool and this guy clearly did not really want to be bothered because he probably had something else he needed to do. The next day we took the faulty phone into the Allentown, PA Best Buy. The 2 young women there were so helpful. They also fiddled with the Sim card lock for a long time, making sure that it was faulty before they exchanged it for another phone, because they stated that they did not want us to pay a $45.00 restocking fee for nothing. They agreed our phone was faulty. It was exchanged for another phone whose Sim card location locked perfectly. Kudos and way to go, employees at...
Read moreWorst appliance shopping experience I've ever had. We decided to take advantage of their free installation special on all appliances and get a new dishwasher. So we order our dishwasher in white, which will take a couple of weeks to come from the warehouse. That's fine, no hurry. The dishwasher comes in and I take a day off from work for the delivery and installation, as we were told they only deliver Monday through Friday. The window for delivery comes and goes, no dishwasher. Call the store, they don't know what happened. Call the delivery contractor, they don't know what happened either. Over the next couple of days, we find out that the dishwasher was damaged and they weren't going to deliver it. No one told us. No one called. So now we have to wait another couple of weeks for a replacement. The new dishwasher comes in and we tell them to schedule it for a weekend, as weren't not taking time off from work. They were very polite and scheduled a Saturday appointment for us. Things seem to be going well.
Our Saturday appointment comes and they deliver the dishwasher. Yet they don't install it. They tell us that the install is a separate appointment. We were never told install was a separate appointment. So we call the store. Once again, everyone is polite and nice. They assure us that the install is scheduled for our window. Once again, the window comes and goes with no one showing up. So we call again. The store tells us to call the install contractor. So we call the contractor who tells us they never got an install appointment from Best Buy. So someone screwed up and we have a big box in our kitchen. So we schedule for the following Saturday.
Then we get a call from a contractor from Best Buy saying he's on his way to pick up the old dishwasher. We tell him he can't pick it up, it's still installed in our kitchen and the new one hasn't been installed. So we cancel him.
Keeping track, the delivery, install and old dishwasher removal are now three separate appointments. Every other store does it all in one appointment and actually tells you what's going on. No one from Best Buy every said there would be different appointments for the different aspects of our purchase.
Now we get an appointment to install the dishwasher from 8am to 8pm. So that's an entire day. It's been almost two months and all I have is a rather expensive box in my kitchen. If I purchased this anywhere else, I would have had my new dishwasher taken care of in one appointment and I would have had it months ago. I'll never purchase an appliance from Best Buy again. I recommend you avoid purchasing any...
Read moreI really wanted to give 5 stars, however, an interaction with the "wrong" employee can make all the difference. I love this Best Buy store for buying computers, especially if you use Geek Squad. I have purchased several computers here. Long story short my computer's memory was full, creating alot of freezes and interruptions in my work. I went to the store to purchase a computer and was met by Shay to help me with my purchase. I told her I wanted just an HP tower with the most storage possible as mine was full. She took me to the one in the store that had the most memory. Upon questioning on certain things she assured me this was my computer. You know when you get that "gut" feeling that someone does not know what they are talking about and are pushing a sale, that's what I got from the very start. I needed a computer so trusted her and upon check out I asked her if she could pull up my 2019 purchase to make sure that this was the right computer for me. She pulled my account up in her phone but I assumed she could not see it because she assured me all was fine. We woud leave it at the store and I would bring my computer in the next day to have it transferred. Day 2 getting ready to disassemble the connections to my computer and take to Best Buy and I just had an uneasy feeling. I looked up my last purchase in my Best Buy account only to see that she was selling me a computer with the exact storage as the one I had. This created a real conundrum for me as I own a business and needed a computer pronto. I contacted the Best Buy number and spoke with Makim who told me she never should have sold me that computer. He was very helpful and tried very hard to locate what I needed. I returned to the store (which by the way is 30 minutes from home) to return the computer I bought which was still at the store as they could not return it by phone. A gentlemen that actually knew what he was talking about assisted me, answered my questions, and located a computer to have shipped to my home in 3 days. I wish I had his name. I attempted to contact the store manager today, however, the Best Buy number does not go directly to the store. So if you go to the Quakertown Best Buy avoid Shay at all costs for computer sales. Customers should not be lied to - employees need to be educated properly and if they are unable to assist a customer provide someone who can. My time is valuable and a lot of time was wasted on something that could have...
