Disappointing Experience with Geek Squad
Unacceptable Service
I strongly advise against visiting Best Buy's Geek Squad for gaming PC support. My recent encounter was appalling and extortionate.
Unnecessary Charges
All I needed was simple guidance on updating my brand-new gaming PC (purchased that same day!). Yet, the Geek Squad representative had the audacity to demand $150 for a diagnostic test.
Obvious Issues
Lack of transparency about diagnostic test requirements Unclear communication about update costs Aggressive upselling
Unacceptable Experience
Representative prioritized profits over customer needs Failed to provide basic update instructions Demonstrated incompetence and dishonesty
Recommendations
Train staff to prioritize customer needs Provide clear, free guidance for basic updates Cease exploitative practices
Warning
Avoid Geek Squad at all costs. Their sole interest is draining your...

All the while they were trying to charge me $100 for copying the backup to another drive. I even brought a 2-slot hard drive reader with me, but they couldn't figure out how to plug it in. It's literally a USB port.
100% a scam. They will hold your data for ransom without a second thought.
