I shop at this Ulta frequently. Never do I have a problem with the associates hovering over me and they seem to be respectful. Tonight, I came with my older sister. She wanted to pick up Tape shape concealer and to look around because we love makeup. My sister noticed the blonde going out of her way to look at us, make eye contact and follow us. I thought, its their job so I understand. I worked at ulta in 2010 at the Montgomeryville location when I was 17 years old, we were told to keep an eye on any suspect shoppers but not look so obvious. I thought maybe my sister was taking it too personal. I did notice, a few minutes earlier on the intercom was said "security at area _" and a bunch of the associates all of a sudden surrounded us. And one asked if we needed a basket? Which was odd. I never got asked for a basket all the times i go there. I had nothing in my hand, my sister had one (Tape Shape concealer) My sister got mad, and put her item down and wanted to leave. She changed her mind and picked it back up and i noticed the girl's demeanor was very obvious that she seemed as if she didn't care that we knew she was hawking us. Almost like the only thing she needed to do was say "yup, im watching you and what?" But of course she wouldnt. But she looked like she might as well say it by her body language and her face. I was shocked but didnt know how to react. I wanted to say something but it wouldve been too late. My sister paid, we walked out. Shes so mad, she looked back at the store and so did I. When I looked back.....a few of the associates were all looking out at the window back at us. Never have I ever witnessed and been treated like that. Like we were thieves!! My sister felt so offended...and so did I. She complained and sent an email to customer service and wont be going in there anymore. I STILL WILL and if they do that to me again....they will be put in place. I reassure that. Never once I have stolen or anyone in my family. We work hard for what we have. Doing your job is one thing...but making people feel uncomfortable when they shop at your store is uncalled for.... You will get told off next time...I dare they search me,...
Read moreI normally love this store and this specific location has great staff. It is always clean and organized. However we experience today just rubbed me the wrong way and I needed to share. I went in to purchase more Proactive face wash as I recently started using it from a travel holiday gift set and needed more. I was debating between getting another gift set with travel size items or the full sizefave wash when I was approached by a worker(the skin expert) who asked if I needed help. I said no just trying to decide if I want the gift set or full size item. To this the worker told me that my skin is not bad enough to be using proactive and asked my age and then told me I was also too young. No questions were asked about my skin routine or history other than what lotion I used. She then proceeded to show me multiple gentle cleansers and repeatedly told me that my breakout isn't that bad. I was not only offended but shocked she didn't take the time to question me about my skin. If she had she would have understand that I have always struggled with problematic skin constantly having to change my face wash after a few months because my skin stops reacting to it. And I recently switched again and finally tried proactive which was making a difference I thought. And I also would have told her that this "little" breakout she was referring too has been there for about 2 months now and won't go away. It was improving with the proactive but wasn't completely gone. She just assumed that my face was as clear as it was today without me doing anything, but it was infact thanks to the proactive that I switched to that finally started to clear up my skin and I was purchasing more to keep my skin as clear as it was. I also would have told her that my plan was to start alternating with a gentler cleanser once my skin was in a place that I was comfortable with. Overall I was very upset with the entire interaction and I walked out of there empty handed costing them what would have...
Read moreMy wife is an avid Ulta customer. She is usually at platinum status and is always working toward accruing rewards points. She received an email offer to spend $100.00 by 9/18/21 and receive 500 bonus points. As her husband I decided to help her out so I went to the Ulta Quakertown, PA store and purchased her a $100.00 gift card in her name and under her account. The email did not say that gift cards were not allowed for this offer. Ulta Quakertown, PA reneged on their email offer and told my wife that my gift card purchase would not get her the bonus points and in addition would not count toward the regular points accrual or count toward attaining platinum status for the next year. My purchase does not even show in her account’s purchase record. It is like my purchase never happened. This company, in my opinion, is very dishonest. It provides offers and promotions and then has all kinds of unwritten and hidden loop holes that allow them to withhold the promised bonuses and rewards. I would recommend staying away from this company. I will not purchase from this...
