I’m extremely disappointed with how PETCO has handled their grooming department and the way they’ve treated both their employees and customers. They recently fired every groomer except one, leaving a single person to somehow manage the workload of an entire team. That’s not just unrealistic — it’s unfair to both the employee and the loyal clients who depended on their groomers.
I’d like to make it known she fired my groomer mid service of my two dogs! And it was because he put his two weeks in!!!
When I asked the manager about it, she was completely nonchalant, offering nothing but vague answers like “I don’t know,” “we’re hiring,” or “we can’t disclose that information.” She acted as if it didn’t matter that so many people — both employees and customers — were hurt by this decision.
It’s become clear through public posts and conversations online that this wasn’t just a random shake-up, but the result of poor management and blatant favoritism. PETCO seems more focused on protecting their image than actually supporting the people who keep their business running. At the end of the day, they’ve shown that they don’t value their staff or the clients who depend on them — and that...
Read moreI was in town for the holidays and had an unfortunate situation when my dog got fleas for the first time. Never having to deal with this I was not sure what to do. I called the local Petco at Northtowne Square for help and I cannot say enough about the wonderful staff and their interactions with me. They are not only knowledgeable but are passionate for their clients' pets. They realized I was a bit desperate to help my dog. Wren had an amazing amount of knowledge on fleas and gave me 3-4 different things that I could do immediately to help my dog and prevent the fleas from spreading in the house. Tiffany was an amazing groomer. She listened to my concerns and requests perfectly. She reassured me about the treatment of fleas and what she would be doing when she worked with my dog. She fully groomed him in an hour and a half and he looked stunning. His skin wasn't as irritated when she was done and he actually was no longer scratching. She made me feel very comfortable leaving them with her, which its generally hard for me to leave him anywhere! So thankful for them! I would take my dog back...
Read moreJust visited here for the first time and probably won't be back. I was walking around looking at the comet goldfish and the state of their tank was appalling. There had to have been at least 20 dead fish in that tank along with it just being filthy. When I tried to tell an employee about this, she told me they were "feeder fish" and they "die quickly", she also told me she just "hadn't gotten around to scooping the tank today" which feels like it should a bigger priority. She didn't apologize for the state of the tank or anything, just completely dismissed me and walked away. Btw, in doing a quick Google search you will learn that comet goldfish do not die quickly and can actually live up to 20 years, the reason people (aka pet stores) say they die quickly is mostly because of inadequate care. As someone who works with animals and who actually cares about their well-being, I would never leave an animal in that state. Hopefully they see this review and use it as motivation to take better care of the animals they say...
