My wife and I visited Jade Palace in Gibsonia, PA, twice in the past month and had the most enjoyable dining experiences. Upon entering the restaurant, we were immediately greeted by co-owner Michelle and employee Lisa and their smiling faces. The first things we noticed about the restaurant was its spacious, bright and clean atmosphere. This was a welcome change from other Asian restaurants that are dark and gloomy, and where employees are unfriendly and even act annoyed if you try to speak with them. The menu is large and colorful and has many of the typical Americanized Chinese dishes that you see at other Chinese American restaurants (think Gen. Tso’s or anything with sweet sauces that are unknown in China or Taiwan). But if you look closely, you will find several other dishes that you do not usually see, such as Spicy Seafood Soup, dishes made with curry (very flavorful!), cumin-flavored dishes (my wife’s favorite) or chow fun (wide, flat rice noodles, which have a nice, smoky flavor). They even make hibachi-style dishes. And if you are a fan of authentic-style Chinese dishes, just ask - Chef Jason will make it for you if he is familiar with the dish. On a recent visit, we each started off with a bowl of hot ’n sour soup, which was a good blend of heat and spices. My wife got the cumin shrimp, and raved about the flavor. On a previous visit, she got the orange chicken and was able to order it without the breading, unlike other places. I asked for beef in hot broth and Chef Jason prepared it per my request (see photo). It consisted of tender fillets of boneless beef in a broth with Napa cabbage, snow peas, cilantro and chili peppers. For those who like a little heat in their food, this is the dish for you. On a previous visit, I ordered Chonquing Chicken, small boneless pieces of chicken in a seasoned, light batter and surrounded by an abundance of chili peppers. Bite and eat a few if you dare! My wife and I like to eat leafy green vegetables. We ordered snow pea leaf greens (see photo) and they were done to perfection (Please note that greens must be ordered in advance). The portions are generous and we had enough leftover to provide dinner the next day, which makes my wife very happy. I get the impression that the owners and staff at Jade Palace appreciate the business and, if there is a problem, will make every effort to correct it and make the customer happy. Michelle and Lisa asked us and other customers several times if everything was ok and if we were enjoying our meal. In fact, co-owner Chef Jason himself emerged from the kitchen on several occasions to ask how we liked our meal. In conclusion, I find that the Jade Palace of Gibsonia serves, tasty, delicious food, has a great atmosphere and has a very friendly, responsive staff. The menu has some items that you will not find at other area Chinese restaurants, and I would not be surprised if they added more of these types of dishes to their menu in the near future. In addition, the Jade kitchen has the ability to prepare some authentic Chinese dishes if you ask. Live an interesting life - be adventurous! Jade Palace of Gibsonia is my new favorite Chinese restaurant and my wife loves it, also. Try it soon and I’m sure it will be your...
Read moreWe went to Jade Palace for dinner upon recommendation from a friend (and fellow lover of Chinese cuisine). He raved about their lunch and told us we had to try it so we headed over (a 25 minute drive) that same day. Our very favorite Chinese restaurant in Cranberry Township closed several years ago when the owners retired. Since then, we’ve been looking for a place with similar quality, flavor, price and great customer service. We were not disappointed. The hot & sour soup is some of the best I’ve had. Great flavor profile and it had me tearing up by the end of the generous serving with a good amount of spice. For the main course we had Kung Pao chicken and the Beef in orange sauce (?). Both were fantastic, just the right amount of sauce (not drowning in it!). The egg rolls are small but very tasty - for the price, under $2 each, they are unbeatable. The only minor disappointment was that we ordered extra spicy and the heat level wasn’t there. We really like spicy so we’re picky in that department. The Szechuan peppers themselves (yep, we tried them) in the dishes weren’t very hot. As a fairly accomplished cook, I get how something like that can really change the heat level in a dish so I’ll give them a pass. Everyone we encountered who works there, in particular Michelle (who owns the restaurant with her husband) were absolutely lovely. They’re a new establishment, they’re working hard to build a clientele and I give them kudos all around. We’ll be back (and next time I’ll take a quart of hot and sour...
Read moreWhile it is not traditional Chinese cuisine, this is a GOOD American CHINESE-STYLE eatery😎.
The menu is longish, somewhat pictorial. The listings consists of fairly common familiar Americanized dishes, even the Chef Specials section of the menu.
🤩 The Shrimps Snow Peas is incredibly bright green, aromatic and flavorful. There’s a generous portion of Prawns (not shrimps), sautéed with peas and married together with a rather silken slightly thickened white sauce… A great dish that my palate reminds of Fujian / Taiwanese cooking. 👏👏👏.
😑 The Buddha Feast, is a familiar American chinese-style dish. It’s good tasting BUT nothing special. VISUALLY, it looks stunningly beautiful medley of veggies, cooked Al Dente BUT low on seasoning and Chinese herbs/spice.
Service is outstanding.
The eatery is well lit and rather minimalist yet a...
