Shoe Dept. Encore — Local services in Richland Township

This place truly needs to hire some new employees. After enjoying a nice dinner with my daughters at the Italian Oven I wanted to stop in to find a pair of shoes for work. I am a dog groomer and I'm on my feet all day so I prefer Nike Air Max 90s. Well walking through the store looking around I didnt see any so I told my daughters to check out the clearance section. As soon as they walked into the alcove BOTH employees shot out from behind the counter (leaving the register COMPLETELY unattended) to pretend to look at shoes with each other. It was so obvious that they ASSUMED we were going to steal something. When in reality I fully intended on purchasing a pair of shoes for work. We were wearing comfortable clothing not dressed up enough I guess. As soon as this happened I decided you know what I'll ask about the Nikes which they no longer sell. But my mind was pretty well made up at that point. I will never buy a pair of shoes from this store ever again even though I bought all three of my kids shoes for school there in the past. You should really not judge a book by its cover.

P.S. famous footwear had just what I needed and offered a much better experience. I was kindly offered help when I walked in the door and not hovered over by 2 judgemental, RUDE employees that were pretending to be customers while actually creating more a dangerous situation by abandoning their register completely. My family & I went into your store at the Galleria Mall here in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to purchase shoes for our two children. When we went to check out, the store manager was very ignorant and rude like he is every single time he has to actually do his job. He makes you feel like you're bothering him so half the time, we don't even bother coming into your store. The last time we were in there (last week), my husband was paying for our children's shoes & noticed the one was scuffed. He told the store manager about it. The store manager then rips the shoe out of my husband's hand, grabs a bottle of shoe cleaner along with a rag & slams it down on the counter then aggressively wipes the scuff mark off of the shoe. He should consider himself lucky nothing was said or done to him right then & there. Someone like him does not belong in the customer service field, let alone working with the public. We won't be back in your store because of him, I promise you. You should really do better when hiring people to run your stores.

Very rude staff. Try putting a smile on your face and being friendly. Instead, I get glared at the whole time and asked multiple times if I needed help (as if I wanted to steal something). I was with my wife, 4 year old and 6 month old son and made to feel like a nuisance. Try being a little more pleasant. Theres plenty of other places in johnstown to shop for shoes.
