Shop 'N Save — Local services in Richland Township

I've been coming here consistently for years, mostly because of the better prices. As of late they have really improved their selection of groceries to include more healthier options. They have great "old school" finds in their condiment and international isles. I used to have to go to GE for some speciality items, but this Shop n Save is improving greatly, I will come here specifically for the deli! I refuse to pay $11 or $12 a pound for lunchmeat and cheese at Giant Eagle, that is pre sliced and packaged in a cooler at that! GE stopped having people work the deli, the hot foods and catering closes at 2 pm, and now they can't afford to send out the weekly add???? They want the store to run with no employees these days. Shop n Save has some new employees at the deli as well that are quick and SO friendly. If I had to say there was any room or improvement, it would be fresher produce. About a. month ago, I could not find one single onion that was not soft and squishy, and rubbery celery, shame on them for expecting someone to buy them like that. Had to go to GE for both! One more area of improvement would be friendlier cashiers and customer service. The coupons they offer in the ValPak adds are great! Be sure to look for them. A few weeks ago this Gibsonia store put up banners exclaiming that they have SLASHED THOUSANDS OF PRICES. There are such signs in the parking lot, on the store, in the store & I think employees had worn such T-shirts for a while. It sounded good to me. So yesterday I went in for some items & was dismayed to see that something I buy every week had actually risen in price from what it had cost for the past year or so, since new ownership took over. Specifically, a variety of their house brand "Everyday Value" frozen vegetable mix had been two for $5 for at least the past year & now they're $2.79 per 1 lb package.

I guess they forgot to mention that in addition to (allegedly) SLASHING THOUSANDS OF PRICES, they also raised other prices. Truth be told, they're more expensive than either Aldi or Walmart on similar items, unless they have a sale on some item, so I know not to buy much there anyway, but this one frozen vegetable mix isn't really available elsewhere, so I just figure that I'm helping them make up for all the (alleged)...

I normally love this store, it's my normal grocery shop BUT yesterday my husband went to pick up some food we had ordered for a big party. They couldn't find my order! They had even called to confirm it that morning! So, after panicking a little wondering who I could call to order fried chicken, they called back and had found it. Then they couldn't figure out how to ring it up. Then we opened it and the sandwich rings weren't sliced! We spent 30 minutes trying to slice them with the plastic cutlery we had at our picnic.
