I am an artist with 50 years of drawing and painting experience. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from a prominent university, have been in many many outdoor art shows and had 5 solo shows in my hometown of Norfolk. I moved here to Richmond three years ago in retirement and still draw everyday. I entered this respected show and followed all of the rules; application filled out early, artwork submitted and accepted, purchased a tent and had 80 of my best pieces framed and hung. When I arrived I found I was dumped and demoted to a distant spot notable principally for its proximity to the portable johns. If you have not showed here before you are chattel to be off-loaded in the rear of the park with the Essential Oil and earring purveyors. I was the equivalent of a block away from the other painters who actually made art and not coffee mugs. I would caution any artist who is considering this show to avoid it at all costs.
