My fiancé purchased my wedding ring from these lovely gentleman. He had been to all the typical chain stores and every place either didn’t have what he wanted, didn’t have high quality, or pushed him over and over to finance for a larger, more ornate ring using my “happiness” as a motivator, despite him confirming we had discussed what size and look I had wanted beforehand. But he said when he went to D’or, he knew he had gone to the right place. Ara and Eddie took so much time with him, sat him down and showed him stones, explained to him all the differences, gave him lots of options but didn’t rush or push. When he couldn’t quite find what he wanted, they LISTENED to his idea and confirmed that they thought they had a stone like that at their other location in Fairfield and went that day to go get it. He thought it was perfect and, when I received it, I had to agree.
Since then, I went back to get it sized and they were so kind and took their time with me too. Making sure it fit perfectly and I was content. They were so careful my father and I decided we would take my grandmother’s ring, a very ornate ring designed for her engagement/wedding ring by my grandfather some 60 years ago, to get cleaned and sized for my wedding band. This was a very big deal, because this is probably the most sentimental thing my father owns and he is very territorial of it and is not a particularly trusting man. But after meeting with them and talking with them, my father agreed that they understood it’s value. Two moments stood out to me during that conversation, first, when my father asked how much the ring would be worth today, they very professionally told him, but followed with an incredibly sincere, “but I mean, considering the origin, it’s priceless. You can’t put a price on something like that.” And, when discussing a small chip in one of the stones that we had intended to replace, they suggested we didn’t, or at least waited until it was cleaned and sized because we would most likely wouldn’t notice it after and changing the stone could alter the integrity of the ring and the aspects that made it look vintage and unique.
Now let me tell you right now, anyone who is just out to make a buck would have been trying to convince me to change everything and do everything and also, while you’re at it, why don’t you buy a new ring too? But not Eddie and Ara, from the beginning they understood the value and importance in that ring, and they were fully in our corner, using their expertise to protect and preserve what we loved about it. They had it done in under a week, and it. Was. PERFECT. Quite honestly it was better than I imagined. It fit perfectly, and Ara even managed to save the piece of the ring he removed for my dad, something that is very difficult and requires a lot of skill. They even cleaned my dad’s ring while we were waiting!
Finally, in addition to all that, I decided to buy my fiancé’s wedding band there, as now working with Ara and Eddie has become a sentimental process in and of itself. They, of course, true to form, took their time, and when they didn’t have exactly what we were looking for, they brought something in and had it waiting for us the next time. It was perfect.
In short, I would HIGHLY recommend. You can’t beat working with people who take pride in what they do and value the people who walk in their door. They are now part of my fiance’s and my love story, and I will tell you, we will for sure be going to them first for all of our jewelry needs. It’s a no brainer, and at this point, if I bought something elsewhere, I would want their opinion on it first. They wouldn’t steer me wrong.
Oh, and I should mention they are very fair in their pricing, which is very helpful to two people trying to plan for a wedding and start their lives....
Read moreI walked into this store to repair my wife's engagement ring and wedding band. The center diamond of her engagement ring was loose and one of the diamonds on her wedding band had fallen out after a bad experience with another jewelry and years of wear. By this point, we were frustrated because we had been to many other jewelers and were given quotes from $800-1000 for repair or replacement. Although I would have happily paid the cost, I didn't feel that any of these jewelers actually examined the rings closely and were simply giving summarial quotes.
When we walked in here however, Eddie and Ara immediately jumped at examining the rings with detail. Unlike other stores, I felt a passion for jewelry making from them. They identified numerous flaws but were quick to differentiate between what needed repair and what was frivolous. They were a treat to talk to and repaired both rings right in front of us. In fact, they invited us to the back to watch them do the work. They say you can tell a man's skill by seeing their workshop and these two knew what they were doing. They fixed everything in a matter of minutes at a cost that was incredibly less than prior quotes. They didn't try to push any higher cost alternatives and just genuinely wanted to help, you don't find that kind of...
Read moreIf you are looking for a trustworthy and honest high-end retail jeweler, you need look no further than D'or Fine Jewelry. Not only do they offer the most gorgeous assortment of diamonds in cutting-edge settings, but they are also extremely knowledgeable and personable. I walked in to inquire about having a stone replaced on my diamond wedding band and D'or's owners, Eddy and Ara, gave me an education about color, clarity, luster, and brilliance. Eddy even handed me his diamond loop so I could compare diamonds to fully appreciate their differences. Although I made it clear that I was simply inquiring about having my ring fixed, these gentlemen treated me with the excellent service they would give a customer purchasing an expensive ring. I wound up spending about an hour and a half chatting with them. We had so much fun and they cleaned and tightened the settings on my wedding and engagement rings free of charge!
