Normally I would give this store 5 stars, but after today, if I could I would give negative stars. Husband and I went to purchase 3 screw drivers, one of which was on sale from $7.52 to $3.49. However when we got up to the register it rang up at $7.52. We let the cashier know that the screwdriver had a yellow tag sale slip on it for $3.49. She called an area manager of her to verify. Turns out one of their employees put the wrong tag on the wrong item. At that point they couldn’t decide whether they were going to honor the price or not and called her a secondary manager. To which at this point she accused My Husband of taking the sticker off of another item and putting it over The original price tag where the screwdriver was hanging. Once she realized what she said, she tried to backpedal and say that a bunch of kids came in and we’re poking them. Are you kidding me? She then proceeds to tell my husband that they will NOT honor the Price that was marked where the screwdriver was hanging. This is literally a four dollar difference. We have lived in the area for over 20 years. And have been a long time customer of ace hardware. after the experience today, in the horrible, horrible customer service I will never shop at the store nor the new one they open in Manteca, nor the one in Escalon ever again. I was completely appalled that the manager had the audacity to blame us for moving the...
Read moreThis place in the past has been great, how ever just like all places selling out to corporate greed, good becomes useless, inefficient bosses that don't understand the effects at an employee level. You corperate, are the driver that drives customers to other stores, as if by design to get great businesses like ace hardware to become closed down so that you can continue to enforce your planned obsolescence agenda, to keep people on a subscription style fee to replace what doesn't need replaced. You give up quality and sell garbage products that break frequently. My experience here, 2 different valves, 1 a needle valve 10bucks, and a water hose spigot, 10 bucks each. Both do the same thing. The needle valve has less material. Why is it still 10bucks? No sense, no logic. I was told, because of the more intricate machining so I responded, you mean, some dude pushing a button extra times? That's all it is, is a factory set up with automation, and you want MORE money for that? Less labor, less critical thinking, less labor and you want more money? Corperate greed at the start. Ace becoming Walmart. In 10 or so tools will suck at this rate. I'll create my own valve replacement, I don't have to shop...
Read moreI shopped at this store for years. It gets two stars from my past positive experiences; however today was much different. I purchased a stihl weedeater 16 months ago. When I purchased it, the salesman told me if I purchased oil for the weedeater the warranty would be extended for a total of two years. Well about a week ago it wouldn't start. I went through the motor and knew it was the fuel system. I took it in and told them it was the fuel system. They informed me if I purchased the oil extending the warranty it would be covered. Today I received a call my weedeater was done. I inquired before I went in about the warranty. They told me it wasn't covered due to it being a fuel system issue, (California gas.) After telling them when I dropped it off I told them what it was and they informed me it would be covered, they told me there was nothing they could do. It wasn't covered. It would have taken me 20 minutes to replace the part at a cost of about $40. I lost $80 in this transaction because I trusted them. They are a friendly store but do not stand behind...
