I honestly thought this place was decent, my partner recommended me this place to get my speakers replaced and have a sub put in, pretty simple. My partner has been going here for years and has brought business in to this place, as a huge bass and speaker head Iâm very disappointed in their work, it is very half-assed(screws were loose and sub wasnât mounted to floor). For almost 600 bucks I think would have at least been a decent system. Andy recommended me some pioneer speakers and tweeters and a install for the kicker sub, I was a little hesitant at first but I thought whatâs the worst that can happen so I went with it, my partner made an appointment on a SUNDAY I dropped my car off at 9am and didnât get it back til 4-5pm thatâs a little pointless for an appointment, anyways started listing to music and sounded good at first until some songs just sounded really loose and rattling(speakers had huge gap from door panel making the bass travel through the door and made it rattle horribly), the sub was also having an issue with going with the engine rpmâs so I took it in and and i ask Andy if they could fix the sub and do some type of soundproofing for the doors and he said they look at it and fix the sub, 5 hours later Andy says itâs ready and also tells me my bass is too high (itâs at 6 and still sounds like shit), the next day I check to see if they actually fixed it just to find out my back door speakers now donât work and on top of that the sub is still doing the same thing, Andy has told me that they installed a capacitor to prevent the sub from making engine noises but I looked everywhere and couldnât find no capacitor, I feel like they just had my car sitting there, and I do not have time to keep going down there everytime I have an issue I am very disappointed in this place I wouldâve been happier just keeping my stock speakers. I donât feel comfortable coming back.
Thanks Andy and The Pacific...
Read moreThis is a relatively laid back outfit, the largest car stereo shop I've come across anywhere. I dealt with Chris, who manages this local shop. What stood out for me compared to other shops I've tried around SoCal is that there's no high-pressure sales tactics, prices are reasonable, and the shop looks well run and organized. ( DO you know how hard it is to just find a shop with these attributes around SoCal?? not easy). Most other shops will try and up sell you unnecessarily, play games with installation and parts charges(inflated costs), and charge as much as they can get, kinda like how it is buying a car from a dealership, and we all know how much we love those experiences. The purchase process went smoothly. Chris was accommodating on the installation and got it done quickly. Now comes the real reason why I gave this outfit a five star. The installation was rushed a bit due to time constraints on my part, as a result, it also caused some errors to occur during installation. Both front woofer were damaged. The rubber surround edge were broken probably when the installer was securing the speaker. Now I found this out a week later after hearing some rattling, and wanted to install some dynamat. I called Chris and texted him a picture of each speaker, and discussed the issue. Chris was very responsive, and took care of the issue the very next day. He replaced them with new woofers. What's important about customer service isn't when everything goes well, it's when things don't go as planned. While my purchase experience didn't go perfectly smooth, but I leaned something about how Pacific stereo does business, their customer service focus, business integrity, and ethics. JFK puts it best " don't let an error become a mistake by refusing to fix it". More importantly, it tells me that this outfit is batting for the long game, and that is a good thing for the community it...
Read moreI prepaid for an installation of a head unit and was told to come on a specific day, but was not given an appointment time. I showed up around noon to find out that I was now in line for the install and was told that had come at 9am when they opened, I wouldn't have had to wait. This would have been great information to share when the appointment was scheduled, as I live about 30 miles from the shop and I was only choosing this shop as it was recommended by a friend. The shop told me they would try to get the install done before the end of the day, which they did, however, upon arrival I was informed that they ordered the wrong part for the install and I would need to return "any other day" to get the correct part installed. It was stated that the part would only take about 20 minutes to install and that I could come any time, and would not even need to drop the car off. I finally made time in my schedule to return to the shop, called ahead and returned on the day I was instructed, only to be greeted with needing to wait yet again, and the same message of "you should have been here at 9am". That's definitely not the same as "show up at any time and we'll throw it right in for you". I decided to purchase the part else where and have another shop install it. It turns out that not only did they order the wrong part, but they just simply did not bother to plug in the dimmer cable for the auto dimmer during the original installation. 20mins at the new shop near my house and everything is installed and working as it should have from Pacific Stereo. The new shop even double checked the part compatibility BEFORE taking my payment. The experience at Pacific Stereo was bad enough that I chose to pay another shop to finish the job I had already paid for there, just to save myself the headache. I will not be returning any of my future business to this location. Shop here at...
