RC Hobby Center Inc. — Local services in Riverside

If you are an avid modeler, rc enthusiast, or model train aficionado, come check it out. I have made several purchases and continue to support my local hobby shop when i can. They dont have everything, but can still order for you. My only caveat is they dont carry enouph paints and accessories to assemple a kit. What paint they do carry is mostly spray paints. I mostly airbrush. Plus not enouph odds and ends. They have no milatary colors, except basic Tamiya colors in there XF Range. They dont carry Vallejo, Tamiya Laquers, or one of my favorites is AK Interactive. They still carry some Testors enamels even though most of us boycotted testors after their parent company rustoleum gutted testors. They also have a good assortment of diorama parts and peices. Prices are higher than most as they dont compete anymore.That's too bad. It would be nice to walk in a hobby shop, find the kit, the paint and the accessories you need to get the job done. Have you ever been right in the middle of project assembly and needed more paint? If it isn't Tamiya xf, they dont have it. Its pretty much the same for the rc section, odds and ends and very few. These hobby shops always say they can't aford the inventory. The bad part is the cant aford not to, they just dont see it. I always say support your local hobby shop when you can. Do your research online, stop by and see if they have anything on your list or they might order it for you if you dont do the internet thing. On Dec 23rd my son-in-law purchased a Horizon Zeyrok Blade drone for my grandson from RC Hobby Center. After trying to get it to fly a few times they could not get it to get off the ground and asked me to look at it. I managed to get it up for approximately 2 min. On Jan 23rd took it to RC and one of the personnel messed with it about 20 min he said it was the control board. Told me it was out of the stores 7 day return policy and it would be $50.00 labor to replace it and that the board would be covered under Horizon warranty. I asked why so much for the labor and was told it took some time to remove all the screws. I told them I would have to call my son-in-law to see if he wanted spend the money since it was brand new. He did not want to pay for that. I informed RC and they told me they could get me the board from Horizon under warranty. I had planned to replace it my self. On Friday Jan 27th I called and was told it was not in yet. On Feb 1st I called again and another person told me that the computer showed it was there but he did not know where it was. I called again on Feb 3rd and was told that Horizon denied the warranty. I then called Horizon and was informed that they would send me another board and that RC had never ordered the replacement board. Will never shop here agian. Litterly the worst experience I have ever had, at any business.

They had my RC truck for 4 months. Dropped it off in November, didn't get it back until 2nd week of April.

I DROPPED IT OFF IN ONE PIECE see picture. I picked it up with litterly nothing on it. Every major component (engine, transmission, exhaust, linkage... Ext.) was in a box.

While remaining professional @ all times :I called John every single Tuesday for 2 months. Shop ownerJohn, had a different excuse as to why my truck " was not a priority", and/or not getting worked on.

I set a clear deadline on when I was picking it up because I have been without my truck for 4 months. I set this date for a Tuesday. On Thursday evening ( giving them 2 extra days) I arrived to get my truck. It was in peices. Destroyed. Co-owner Joyce, charged me "labor" to take my truck home in a box. I was also threatened if I didn't pay for the job they didn't complete, she would call the police, Of which I encouraged. I was the one robbed at this location.
