IF YOU'RE FROM OUT OF TOWN DON'T COME HERE................. Hotel hell. Wish could rate no stars. We got a room so my sister could look at the areas around the apartments she was considering. The night shift check in lady was extremely rude she couldn't bother to get off her phone it took 25min to check in and the hall way to check in left you feeling like you needed a shower. But we gave it a chance because one bad egg shouldn't spoil it for anyone. But unfortunately that was not the case for this hotel. The room looked ok at first glance. We put our things in the room then went to grab something to eat. We got back. The lighting was lousey (didn't want to work) , the tv didn't work at all, the shower sounded like a jet taking off and they had holes in the wall near the shower. The carpet was sticky. The furniture was dirty. We hoped to get a good night's sleep. The mattresses unfortunately felt horrible. You felt as though you were sleeping on a boulder. Then they had the fire alarm going off at 4am it took them 30min to get it turned off. We woke up to find that the bedding that looked clean was stained eww. Both our backs felt terrible upon waking up. We got dressed and discussed complaining to the check out staff. At 10:30am we checked out and complained to the morning check out staff. He tried to help but had to call the manager who instead of coming in to his hotel or offering some kind of a discount, told the employee to blame us for not trying to talk to the night staff we already had problems with. They told us that when we stay again they would give us a discount. We informed the employee we would never stay here again. To that he said he would leave the manager a note to call us. Then at 10:45am they had construction pull around the hotel to the point you could not get out of the parking lot. Literally I had to go across the road to tell my sister she could turn because they made sure you couldn't see to turn left or right. Terrible place to stay, sleeping in a car would feel better and be less disgusting. -----Tiffany...
Read moreMade reservation through Hotels.com for a single evening. Tried phoning the hotel a number of times to let them know I would be running late and to keep the room for me-just kept going to answering machine message. When I got there, the place is going through a remodel so construction materials were all over and parking spaces were limited. I checked in and was lucky to find one last parking space in front of my room but when I used the room key I was unable to open the door-the door latch worked but the door would only move 1/4 of an inch and no more. I went to the night clerk to get help but even she could not get the door to work. I asked if she could just move me to another room but she told me that because of homecoming there were no more rooms and I would get a refund so I could go somewhere else. I tried calling to see if there were any rooms available nearby but again, it was homecoming so no dice. I ended up driving another 20-30 minutes to find a place and finally got a room on the south side of the city at a Super 8 that fortunately had a room. Now if I could only get ahold of someone at the Air View to process my refund back onto my card! BTW, you cannot cancel a reservation here once you've made it without getting...
Read moreWhile traveling to Ft Leonard Wood MO for a Military Reunion I stayed overnight in Dayton OH. I chose the Air View Inn because of reasonable price and location close to the Museum Of The Air Force. I did not need a 6AM "breakfast", and a $100+ per night room to crash in for a couple of hours before getting back on the road at 0dark30 for the final run to FLW MO. Air View Inn fit the bill perfectly. An old chain motel now obviously under family management so it is not the HIlton or Holiday Suites. If you require that level of accomodation then go there and pay the big bucks for the experience. The front desk attendant was a pretty, pleasent, efficient young woman who gave me a first floor room and early check in as I requested when booking. She gave me simple directions to the Museum just 10 minutes away and upon return at 2 PM I had my room ready and waiting at a reasonable price of about $60 all in. Room was clean and smelled fresh, sheets were crisp and bright white, I saw no creepy crawlies, either two legged or multi legged, in and around the premises. Fast food snack nearby, and I was up and out at 0dark30 and on my way with no difficulties. I would stay there again if the circumstance...
