Placed an order for pickup. It said that the order would be ready in 45 mins (6:27pm). Hubby went to pick it up. When he got there they said the order wasn't ready yet and it would be 5-10 mins. He waited and watched as people came in, were sat, and given their food. At 7:05 he had to again ask about our order. Lady said she would have they make it then..... He again watched people come in, be seated, order and begin eating their food. He asked again about the order. Finally after over an hour past the pickup time, he was given it. He asked to speak to a manager and was told the had no time to talk to him. He came home and I tried to call and was told everyone was too busy and that I could try and call back after 9pm or that I could come in and talk to a manager. Lady.....you just told my husband when he was there that they were too busy to talk and you want me to come back down to play these games?!? Also, my hot food was cold, my tempura had no sauce, and my sushi was all blobbed together in a mess. And she even tried to somehow blame us for the wait. Our food should have been made before you make food for people that just walked through your doors....not just once, but multiple times and orders. This is beyond unacceptable. From all perceptions they already had my $80 and therefore felt they had the power to make us wait, so that they could shove more people ahead of us and make more money. We go there ALOT and spend $80-$100 each time and that's how they treat loyal customers?? They could have called us to tell us it would be longer. They could have told my husband when he showed up that it would be an hour. And we would have accepted this and had no problem. They have called us before to tell us our food is ready early or that they were out of things and we have been fine. But to be baited with times, have our food preparation placed behind orders just placed, wait for over 2 hours and then get food that is inedible and be told basically deal with it.....no. Thats not ok. They can reach out and make this right or we will start getting our sushi from Sky Sushi from now on. It's...
Read moreSo we rolled into Akashi Sushi with a party of nine, thinking we were about to have a fun night of sushi and good company. We did get sushi…eventually. Just not all at the same time.
Instead of eating together like normal humans, we played a thrilling game of “Who Gets Their Food Next?” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t the person who was starving. There was a solid 20–25 minute gap between the first dish hitting the table and the last one finally making its grand appearance. At one point, we considered just rating each plate as it arrived and going home in shifts.
Now, let’s talk salad. Calling it a “starter” is a bit generous since it was barely bigger than a condiment cup. But hey, at least it was…frozen? Yep, parts of it had a nice icy crunch. Fancy. And the dressing? Picture someone mixing orange juice and wishful thinking. Not even a hint of ginger. Unless you squint and lie to yourself.
The menu? A fun little puzzle. One of our members ordered potato croquettes thinking he was getting a tasty app. Surprise! They also showed up on his entrée plate like an uninvited guest. Who doesn’t love mystery food logistics?
And just when we started settling in…bam, check dropped on the table before we’d even finished eating. Nothing says “we value your presence” like being asked to wrap it up while mid-bite.
Bottom line: the sushi was good. The rest of the experience? Like dining in a sitcom episode with no laugh track. Would we go back? Maybe…with a stopwatch, a backup meal, and absolutely no expectations. I do not think they are suitable for a group larger...
Read moreWell…..I had planned to take my mom here on Friday for an early Mother’s Day dinner, but they told us the wait would be about 20–30 minutes. It was so packed, so I just eat by myself and bring my mom back on Saturday instead. While I was waiting, there were really bad things and ruined my whole mood. There was this family (maybe) and their table was full of food, but they started yelling at this young server, saying they didn’t get half their food. (I saw whole things they have two sushi missing,so From what I saw, it seemed like they just didn’t want to pay.just my opinion )One of the men was especially nasty, just yelling in her face And swear. It was uncomfortable and honestly disgusting to witness. And then… she ended up being my server. Poor girl looked like she was about to cry, but she still gave me amazing service — polite, kind, and even complimented my outfit. I felt awful for her. I gave her a huge tip, hoping it’d make her feel just a little better. I came back on Saturday with my mom. Totally different vibe — not busy, peaceful, and the same girl served us again. She was so sweet, had my mom laughing, and made the whole dinner feel personal and special. I honestly wasn’t planning to write a review, but then I saw that same family had posted one blaming her. Seriously? You were just plain rude. And if that poor girl had to pay for your food, I would gladly cover it for her. I even told the restaurant they should call the police I don’t know if they did, but I really hope so. It’s hard to believe people...
