UPDATED 09/25/25:
My heart is heavy having to update my review, but the safety concerns are just not reaching AMC loud enough to bring a sense of urgency in an effort to protect their tenants.
Living at the 3900 has been a journey. The neighborhood itself is nice, and I truly enjoy the community. However, the number of safety incidents that have occurred here is deeply concerning as a single mother.
When I first moved in, I experienced repeated issues in my unit: someone attempted to break into my apartment, unhoused individuals were sleeping outside my bedroom window, and I even encountered a man undressing as my son and I walked to our car. Across the street, large crowds of unhoused people often gathered, which left me sleepless and on edge for months. After requesting to break my lease, the local management graciously arranged for me to transfer to an upstairs unit.
While this new unit has been somewhat better, the safety issues remain. Two of my neighbors have had their cars broken into, one car was stolen, and just last night two more vehicles were broken into. Neighbors have also reported attempted home break-ins while they were inside. Paying close to $3,000 for a two-bedroom apartment, this is terrifying and unacceptable.
I want to pause here to give credit where it’s due: the on-site team (Brandy, Anita, and maintenance) have been nothing but kind, supportive, and responsive. They are the only reason I have stayed as long as I have. They advocate tirelessly for us, but unfortunately it feels like AMC, at the corporate level, has not taken substantial steps to improve security for tenants. While I understand AMC cannot be responsible for every individual’s personal safety, as a community, the level of neglect in addressing these ongoing incidents feels beyond reasonable.
I do not want to move at the end of my lease. I love the neighborhood and I appreciate the local management. But the lack of adequate security and action from AMC makes me feel unprotected and undervalued as a resident. For the cost of living here, tenants deserve to feel safe in both our homes and our community spaces.
I want to be clear: my frustrations are not with the local staff, who have gone above and beyond. My concern is with AMC corporate not providing them the resources they need to keep residents safe. If you move here and have children, please take safety precautions to stay vigilant as there are significant safety concerns here despite these beautiful apartments.
I just want to express my gratitude to Anita & Shayla for all of their support in getting my kiddo and I settled into our new home. 🤍
The apartments are clean, the community is beautiful and the communication with leasing department has been excellent. I almost went with the James apartments (their sister location) since they have equivalent apartment homes with elevated amenities, but because of Anita’s communication and service, I chose the 3900’s.
