They don't have all dresses or sizes out, but can pull them for you to try. So that is really nice. Even final sale/clearance but there is no cell service in the store...keep that in mind.
I was so bummed with my experience. I came from out of town and was over the moon excited to visit and channel my inner princess. I think it was really nice to have a place to try things on since the plus sizing is all over the place. However, it seemed like my presence was greatly inconvenient to those working. They seemed to have a different project going on that my presence was impeding. I understand being busy or overwhelmed, but as a customer that didn't feel good. From all the videos, try ons, and social media responses, I just had a very different impression of the staff. I had a gift card and was trying to find the best fit, but kept feeling like the workers were so put out having to help me. I really didn't think I was being rude to elicit such response. It just made me not want to go back and questioned whether I should just regift or sell the giftcard.
Please find plus size designers when it comes to maintaining a shape while sizing up. The proportions make no sense and seemed based on one body with just inches added to size up. Inclusivity is great, but even better when the larger sizes being represented are actually crafted to fit.
The woman who wore the black roselyn was the only exception. She was kibd, welcoming, and seemed excited...
Read moreEdit: dropping this review down a few stars, because a couple months ago I went into the showroom to try on dresses. They didnât fit, so I hung them back up on the rack at the front of the store. A few of them fell off the hanger so I was picking them back up. An employee walked out from the back, looked at me and said âDonât touch dresses that arenât yoursâ. I was so shocked I couldnât even say anything. Iâm not sure how they can expect to treat customers like this and have anyone come back.
I love Ivy City Co dresses! They are high quality and have great sales. Occasionally Iâve experienced loose threads or a broken zipper, but their online customer service is fantastic and always makes up for it. Sizing in this brand is difficult - I have Ivy dresses in every size from an XXS to a Large. So it really helps to try on the dress. Because of this, I try to go to the showroom even although itâs quite a drive for me⌠and try on several sizes so I know what to buy. But it feels like Iâm inconveniencing the girls in the showroom by asking for different sizes to try on. They sigh or roll their eyes then take forever to bring the dress out. Which feels off because Iâm about to potentially spend a couple hundred dollars on some dresses? Their online presence is very kind and charming though, hopefully the showroom presence can someday hopefully match...
Read moreI was super excited to come to Ivy City Co as I had browsed their shop online and really liked their clothing designs as they were both fashionable and modest! My in person shopping experience was very disappointing. The presentation of the store was impeccable and adorable so I had high expectations for everything else. However the quality of the clothing there is SO POOR. Loose threads on everything, poor stitching and thin fabrics, the clothing quality was comparable to Shein (which would be fine if the prices were in the same ballpark. Except they aren't. The majority of the dresses there are price ranged around $125.) On top of that, the girls working there gave off judgy attitudes and acted as if my being there was an inconvenience. I went into the fitting room multiple times to try on many different dresses and one of the times I heard them whispering to each other about "I can't believe how many dresses she is trying on." I think one of them was named Brinkley. (I would like to note that I cleaned up after myself putting dresses back on hangers as I have worked in retail before and know how frustrating it is when people don't pickup after themselves.)
My overall review; cute designs, cute store, horrible quality clothing and bad customer service. Would not recommend if you care about the quality of...
