I called ahead and told them that I needed links removed from a watch bracelet. They said that they "definitely" could do that on the phone and estimated 5-15 minutes. I drove there and once I handed it to them confirmed that they could "definitely" do it. They gave me a time estimate of 5-15 minutes again. This was a Thursday.
While I waited, they took the links apart but couldn't put it back together. I left it there because they wouldn't just give it back but insisted that someone would come in to fix it that night or Friday to fix it. They guaranteed it would rest for pickup Saturday.
I was told that, as soon as the work was complete, they would call so I could come pick it up on Saturday at the latest. I called Friday and Saturday multiple times.
They didn't answer the phone so I couldnt see if they had finished. They said they'd be done by then and would call. They did not. The phone was never answered. I was told they were open though when I dropped it off.
I went there to just pick it up and have the work done elsewhere. They were closed. Unfortunately, the hours listed on Google indicated that they were open. Another trip wasted.
The watch was eventually ready 5 days after being dropped off there, rather than being done in 5-15 minutes like they said when I called initially and when I first arrived. It took three trips and many calls. They charged me $15, the full amount despite inadequate customer service and a lot of time wasted on my end.
I get it on and see that they took the links out on one side of the bracelet clasp rather than them being evenly removed on either side. So now it doesn't even fit right. I'm not a watch aficionado but was able to confirm in about 30 seconds via a cursory internet search that link removal should be balanced so that the clasp is parallel to the watch case.
So I wore the watch for about 24 hours to see if I could get used to it but a pin in one of the links backed out causing the bracelet to come apart.
So, after all that, the work wasn't even done right. 🙄
What's worse is that they have the same model, a version of a Seiko monster (that I got shipped from Seiko, so it's not a knockoff), in their display case so they should know how to do it. It's not some exotic model. It's basic. I just don't have the tools to do it.
I will not go back because I don't believe they can do the job.
I'll end up just going to a proper jeweler and drop it off, rather than a mall kiosk. The only reason I went there was so I didn't have to leave it and come back later. But a great timesaver it turns out.
I guess this was good for developing patience but I'd really like to have been able to trust what they said they'd do which is a 15 minute while-you-wait deal or, failing that, finish the work and call me. They should also have the phone answered or have a message saying when they are open. The listed one apparently goes to a cell number because the number that is listed has a message saying that the number called is different.
If I could give zero stars, I would still leave 1 because the person working...
Read moreI went there to get a ring resized. He didn't hand me a receipt or a invoice. I came back for the ring and I was told the individual that did the resizing wasn't there. So they wouldn't allow me to pick up the ring. They scanned my ID as well as took my number. They said that the would not give me the ring unless the individual that did the resizing could verify my identity. Long story short they called me an hour later, charged me more than what we originally agreed on and also resized the ring a size smaller than what I asked for. They will never have my...
Read moreThe gentleman working was able to replace and install my watch battery quickly and inexpensively. I came to this jeweler after the mall department store where I purchased my watch refused to change it, citing current (COVID) policies, even though I waited 10 minutes in line while a woman was trying on watches in front of me (what’s the difference?). They at least recommend me to this kiosk. The healer even set the date and time for me, which was a nice touch! I’ll use this business for my future watch-related...
