SEPHORA — Local services in Rockaway Township

TERRIBLE customer service. My sister & I visited this Sephora to browse, and she needed to use the restroom. After she came out and we were checking out, an employee approached her and scolded her for not informing staff beforehand so she could be “escorted.” I get there might be a security policy in place — but if that’s the case, put up a clear sign on the door instead of ambushing customers afterwards. What made it worse was the way she spoke to my sister like she was a child. My sister is a grown woman and deserved to be treated with basic respect, not condescension. It was incredibly demeaning and completely uncalled for. Unfortunately, I didn’t catch the employees name, but the tone and attitude were enough to make sure we’ll never shop at this location again. Visited this location for the first time today and Linda greeted me within the first few minutes of shopping, she was so kind, patient and knowledgeable. This location was one of the cleanest Sephora’s i have seen in a long time. I came in for skin care but I browsed through the makeup and all the testers were perfectly clean and nothing looked mangled. They were not lacking on stock and i was very impressed. I was even looking for an item that was just released online and they had the item in their back stock. Linda was nice enough to run me through what I should and shouldn’t be using on my skin and gave me a few tips on a good routine. I stopped by sephora at this location and I did not have my stroller with me for my baby so I just wanted to grab one thing and go about my day so I grabbed a cart from five below and used it to hold my baby in her car seat. Within five minutes , one of the employees told me I can not be in the store because I had a cart holding my baby in her car seat. I thought that was unfair only because I just wanted to grab one thing and make it easy for me to do just one thing quickly at sephora but I was immediately kicked out. Even one of the employees thought that was ridiculous for the situation I was in. So far, not the best sephora experience lately and I just moved around here...
